Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Well, what’s going on? What happened with the election, what happened with the Hispanic population with us today is Joe, if you who worked in the economic development in the Patacki administration, Joe, we know each other a long time.

What happened with the election. It looks like President Trump had a landslide victory.

Speaker 2 You tell us, Well, you know, it’s interesting, John, because during the Patacti campaign, one of the biggest things is that we created om egos to PATTACKI and that brought him over. So the Latino vote, even though everyone said, you know, the Democratic Democratic, the Latino vote like what he was doing. Well, we’re seeing the same We saw

the same thing here, especially in the Latino of males. The other thing that you have to take into account is that Trump came to the Bronx. He did a rally at the park, He went and visited the barbershop in Castle Hill, well known for Latinos who go there and and who are into boxing, and all those things

affected the situation. He also went to a bodega up in Washington Heights, so people saw him. It’s also the issue of the economy. Remember the old saying the economy stupid. The economy here has affected the folks, and the Latino community is about working folks and they want to have jobs.

They want to progress the American dream. So those things uh or efficient enough to sell and market to the Latino community to go over to vote for Trump. In Pennsylvania, there was a community where it’s known for Dominican American working folks. That population, especially the male population, brought up the numbers. The percentage went up for the Trump vote.

Speaker 1 And uh, uh is it because of the economic situation the price of gasoline double and and uh the uh the migrant situation did that help? I mean, we got a lot of gang members, a lot of criminals coming to uh, the Bronx, the inner city, the U in the our you know, in all our inner cities.

Speaker 2 Yes. The issue is that the people who the especially the Latino community who’s working, is tired of seeing other immigrants who have nothing to do with anything, but they’re getting the services. They’re also taking over jobs that normally, you know, the Latino community would have. But they’re also tired of the crime, and especially seniors are scared to

hit the streets out there because of these young people on bikes, who are ripping off chains and you know, going back to the old days of robbing people, and you’re talking about young gang members. Now they’ve created their own gangs from the hotels that they’re staying at, and they’re walking the streets and affecting the working Latino community,

the senior citizens who are out there who are afraid to walk the streets. All of that is folded up into Hey, we’re sick and tired of all of this. So they’re hearing and Trump is great in his marketing that they’re saying, we need a change. And the other thing, John, that he said at his speech the other night is

something that you and I have been saying for the longest time, and you have been out there saying common sense. He said it on the stage about common sense, and I think that’s now the issue. And I said it before that this election was going to be for the voters to decide, and I think we saw the results

of that understood.

Speaker 1 You know, I believe America has been saved, and I believe that God had a hand in it because we were on the edge, the edge of disaster both domestically and internationally. And what else do you want to tell you American.

Speaker 2 People, it’s about what the community as large needs. The Latino community is now speaking out. The population has been growing. The percentages from past elections to this election has shown that the Latino community is a growing voting community. They’re proud, they’re proud to be citizens. They’re proud to have been born here in America. They want work, they want the

best for their youngsters in schools, get the right education. They want the American dream. And that is the main focus here of Hey, we are here to stay, we live here, we want to work here, we want the best that America has to offer. And they have. What you and I have been saying over and over, common

sense is what drove the elections and the votes to Trump. It wasn’t a Democrat, Republican liberally, it was the common sense and the need for a change in America.

Speaker 1 Joe, if you, thank you, and we’ll catch up again real soon. Thank you so much. You’re welcome.
