Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning. Well, it’s the week after the election. Where the heck are we? I’m getting a lot of opinions from a lot of good friends with this Sunday Morning is Ed Cox. He’s the GOP chairman of New York State and he’s got a bigger he has got bigger fish to fry. But that’s what he’s doing right now.
And Chairman Cox, Cox tell us, where the heck are we? How do you feel? First of all, I feel very good. How do you feel?
I feel great? And I have to say former President Trump has to feel very great because he’s gonna be the forty seventh president of the United States thanks to a real uptick that he had in the Hispanic votes, the Black votes, and particularly the young vote under thirty.
And that’s where he got his extra margin. From here in New York. He cut his margin from twenty percent loss to ten percent, which is extraordinary. It’s the best we’ve done going back to nineteen eighty eight.
Why do you think that happened? I know a lot of people were angry of some of the things going on in our country. I would say the number one thing they were angry about was the economy. The number two thing is probably the borders. Give us your pulse on the situation.
The real the big mistake that Biden made was a fiscal irresponsibility of the American Recovery Act one point nine trillion dollars right into the economy, mainly to help his political friends. And it drove and I will use the word inflation as a shorthand. It drove inflation up to nine percent. And that has resulted in the working people
of America who live paycheck to paycheck. Their paychecks are worth between five percent and the fifteen percent less. Their standard of living is going down down. They are mad as hell. There there are the people of Pauls say that this country is going in the wrong direction. Seventy percent of the voters say it’s going in the wrong direction.
They and they voted en mass against whether Hispanics or blacks or young people. They said this country’s going the wrong direction, and they voted against the incumbent rightfully so. And that’s that’s how President Biden won this election.
It was at least fort on the economy. The price of gasoline has doubled even more triple, and the price of food went up thirty and the economy, and then I guess there’s safety because of what was going on with the borders.
The borders where they also big because that threatened their jobs to a certain extent, and it also added to iviously the crowded their schools. It put a lot of weight on the healthcare system, the educator and the other welfare systems in the communities all around here. When you have ten million illegal immigrants and maybe even more of
the godaways and all that that are spread out across the country and going into communities and putting a heavy fiscal responsibility on those communities, and of course the people who are at the lower end of the income scale got really hit hard by that.
Also, it looks like the American people are so angry. The White House was won by Republicans, O’donald Trump in the Senate won by Republicans. And it looks like the odds in Las Vegas over ninety percent that Mike Johnson is going to retain being Speaker of the House. So that means they should be able to do a lot
of good things.
Do you bet we’re going to have a trifecta? While it’s going to be a narrow margin margin, we are going to have again, and Johnson’s speaker. Johnson has been very good at managing it and keeping his majority together.
But we will have a majority in the House, a majority in the US Senate, and of course the presidency and the plans for what they’re going to do as opposed to twenty sixteen are now worked out, and he understands he’ll have his choices. He’ll be able to make choices working with people who he has worked with before,
put in the right positions, and he’s going to have two years to get stuff done. That’s all you have when especially when it’s your second term.
Well, it looks like he was over ten years, will almost ten years when President Trump got elected by yeah, yeah, eight nine years. Do you feel he has learned what he did wrong the first time around?
Well, he did very well.
Actually, no, he did very well. But has you know what he did wrong? Mister chairman, allowed some bad people to be influent that possibly President possibly President Obama put into various agencies.
I have no doubt that it was President Obama and other people working with him, and and they gave him a lot. But despite all that flack, the Russia, Russia Russia stuff and the.
Two and the fifty one intelligence people that were putting out bad information.
And despite all that, he had a secure border. H Inflation was low and way real wages were going up, especially for minorities, and he was doing and he was doing so well. The lot of people who voted for him and against Hillary the first time, Oh, they’re basic Democrats.
Things are going well. I can go back to voting Democrat. Well now when they take a look at the at their way, their paychecks are not worth what they are now, and they look at the immigrants board across the border and putting pressure on the local communities. People now understand how good it was during his tenure as president of
the United States, and that’s why he had the overwhelming victory that he has had where he actually won the popular vote in this country for the first time since nineteen eighty eight, when it was when it was HW HW Bush in his first race for the presidency.
Ed Cox, thank you for everything you’ve done and you work very hard to make to save America. God bless you and God bless America.
Thank you John for all you do. Thank you
