Speaker 1 Sunday morning, the week after the election. Well with us today is Senator Ron Johnson from the great state of Wisconsin, and President Trump won Wisconsin. Well, Senator, I mean the sun is shining on America. It looks like America is going to go in the right direction. Tell us you your evaluation of the election, tell us of your evaluation

in which way our country is going to be going, and what do you want to see happen.

Speaker 2 Well, first of all, just recalling election night, I was down in Pewaukee in Walkershaw County with kind of the main data center for the Trump campaign, and it was so much fun that it was Wisconsin that, to use the sport analogy, we sank the putt that won the President’s Cup. We put Donald Trump over the edge. I mean,

it was just so much fun being there. You know, the cow was it the two sixty seven? Then they call Wisconsin and that put them up over to seventies. So that was a lot of fun. But I read pay Newton’s column uh that came in to Wall Street Journal on Friday, and I think she diagnosed her quite well.

I Mean, what America voted for was to take us off this destructive path the Democrats have put us on this insane path of you know, all these social crazy things that you know, boys competing girls’ sports using their locker rooms, you know, mutilating children, you know, DEEI I mean just all and America voted to put us on

a new path. And so we as Republicans have an opportunity to keep America on that path. I mean, this is I mean the ship of state. That’s that’s a good analogy. It takes a long time to to turn the direction of the ship of state and get it on a on a less dangerous path. And we need

to we need to keep chrding that course now. And that’s going to take very thoughtful leader ship. We we you know, yeah, I think that there’s the mandate is not necessarily for particular policies. The mandate is to get us off that destructive path, put us on a new path, re embracing the principles that made this country great. Freedom. Uh,

you know, a limited government, get government out of our lives, Quit quit weaponizing government, don’t don’t allow government to censor our speech. Again. I think Americans at least you know, a good majority because President Trump also won the popular vote a good majority rejected, I mean totally rejected what path the Democrats put us on. They rejected all this

crazy stuff. Okay, I heard one of the best, the most significant ads was you know, she’s for they them, I’m for you. Also, having that peral encapsulates at all. I mean, we’re we’re for what made this country great.

We are we are now. And this you got to give Trump a lot of crest. It is he is reshaped the Republican Party, realigned our politics. Now, Republicans we represent the working men and women of this country that created this country, that produced it, that build it. They can make it great again. So listen, you can tell

I’m excited about this. We’ve got a great opportunity. But we also we need to be modest and humble in what the American people have said and what they want, and we need to keep us going the same direction.

We’re gonna have to win election after election after election because Democrats have created such a mess. We have such massive problems. This is not a This can’t be one and done. You can’t. You can’t expect us to fix all these problems in just a four year term, or even or even less time. Two years before the next midterms.

Speaker 1 What would you like to Senator what would you like to see happen to fix the way where where people are voting? For instance, Uh, Governor and news some in California with all the migrants he has says, do not ask for uh, a proof of of anything of who you are just going to vote. I mean that is

that is mind Boffley.

Speaker 2 I do see one meme on the internet so that Kamala Harris won all the states they require no voter ID.

Speaker 1 I did see that. I did see that. And the other thing we’ve been talking about all week on Cats and Cosby at five o’clock has been that uh, intentional voter fraud, intentional voter fraud, mandatory jail sentence. Otherwise they’re gonna they’re gonna find some patsy to pay the fine of anybody that they gotta go quote quote with voter fraud.

Speaker 2 Well, we certainly need to tighten our laws when it comes to voter interiory. The problem is, I hate to do it to the federal level. I do want elections run at the state level and then those states can live with the results. Okay, it’s one of the beauties of our Federated Republic here. But I think they’re like

to Save Act where you require proof of citizenship. I mean, I think those those would be appropriate. The problem is Democrats won’t vote for them the Senate. So we’re gonna have to ram up these these bills in the majority now and make Democrats senators vote against what American public wants.

You know, here in Wisconsin, we voted for a cost soucial amendment. It passed by more than seventy percent that only US citizens. Citizens can vote in Wisconsin elections across the board, I mean, you know, in New York, I mean you get you have non citizens voting in local elections, which is the first step forward allowing them to vote

in federal elections or by you know, either by accident or by design, even though it would still be illegal for them to vote. Again, Democrats, we need to make it obvious. The Democrats oppose all election integrity measures, everything that we store confidence in their election system. They want to make it easy to cheat. But you got to

go ask us, well why, Well, it’s because they want to cheat or they already are cheating. They don’t want to get caught.

Speaker 1 Yeah, but if you have states that are that might not be able to you know, might be well democratic controlled. Nothing’s in change.

Speaker 2 Well, again, the beauty is, we’re not going to change the electoral college. And so if you want to live in some whacked out state that embrace the socialism that runs up huge deficits in bankrupt your state, I guess that’s your choice. But hopefully most of America will embrace what made this country great and keep a even a

head about them and will continue to provide support for this new path we’re on with their electoral votes. I mean, that’s what wiscons did you know? He decided collectively as the state that we wanted to take ourselves off this destructive path, and we awarded our ten electoral votes to Donald Trump put us on this new path.

Speaker 1 Got you anything else you want to tell the American people on a Sunday morning, the sun shine.

Speaker 2 We have Listen. The other thing I don’t think President Trump has gotten enough credit for is not on the realignment of our politics, but also the coalition he built which confirms that he’s religned our politics. I mean the fact that Bobby Kennedy, Telsey Gabbert, Elon Musk, Joe Rogan in our state Brett Fire, who has never involved himself

in politics. I don’t really know what his politics are, but he was so concerned about his country he ended up endorsing Trump. The coalition of very smart people that love this country. They share that they recognize that Democrats were the danger to democracy, and they joined the Trump team to put us on this new path. I think

that’s monumental, and hopefully the Mediaocrat party will allow us to heal and unify this nation. They didn’t allow it after twenty sixteen. They’re the most democrats or device to force in our politics. So hopefully we can unify and heal this nation because john will be a whole lot easier addressing these enormous problems and challenges as a unified

nation as opposed to a highly divided one.

Speaker 1 And keep our people in the inner city safe and get rid of the criminals as soon as we could, because it’s horrible. Our inner cities are horrible. The retail business and our inner cities are horrible, and we’ve got to fix that right away too.

Speaker 2 Well, that’s so I’m sure Trump’s top priority.

Speaker 1 Thank you so much, center Ron Johnson for your wisdom and your words and your common sense from Middle America Wisconsin, and we’ll catch up again real soon.

Speaker 2 Have a great day.
