Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Oh well, this is Ron Johnson from the great state of Wisconsin. Senator Johnson. So many things are happening in our country. Tell us what are you feeling. Are we gonna make peace? Are we going to you know, what are your thoughts?

Speaker 2 Well, first of all, I think President Trump is proving why he is one of a kind. I can’t I can’t even believe what he is accomplishing just being an augrade president. His dedication is curing the border. The border is by and large secure. Now he needs the funding and that’s what the Sun is trying to do, and

the House is too trying to provide him the funding to follow through and you know, build the fence and do the deportations and make sure we have a long term secure border. But you know what he’s doing in terms of peace around the world. First of all, it’s important to have a president who is dedicated to peace,

to ending wars, to not getting us into stupid, endless, mindless wars long term. So he’s just completely resetting the playing field here. Uh, understand that we would be so much better off if we had a at worst a friendly rivalry with Russia, you know, recognizing that you know, they have some concerns as well. Uh, you know, not

not throwing Ukraine under the bus, instead doing a mineral deal with Ukraine that benefits everybody. Again, I think that’s a brilliant move. Helps pay for the war, helps provide capital for Ukraine to extract those mineral resources. But but also you know, signals to Russia that you know, we’re serious about helping Ukraine. Again. An, it’s a master stroke.

So I know, President Trump is being criticized from the intelligentsia, from academia, from you know, the legacy corporate media. Again, they’ve just never seen this out of the box paradigm shifting thinking, which at this moment in history, I think is exactly what we need in the Oval Office.

Speaker 1 Understood. Is Iran going to finally realize that it’s all over, that they can’t go around paying terrorists to terrorize uh our country and terrorize the rest of the world without them taking responsibility for their actions.

Speaker 2 I sure hope. So listen, now, obviously Iran is absolutely dedicated to becoming a nuclear power, or they wouldn’t be putting up with these sanctions, you know, time and time again. Now, unfortunately Obama and Biden both lifted the pressure, relieved the pressure that the people like President Trump put on him in his first term. They’re going to see that same

pressure this term. And all they need to do is stop pursuing nuclear record weapons, stop sponsoring terror around the world, particularly in the Middle East, and then there there people could realize the benefits of integrating into a world economy who would welcome them with open arms. So it’s just unfortunate that you have the Iteolas with their iron fist

control over the Iranian population that I think more and more is resisting that. But they just again they can’t do it themselves. But what we can’t do is we can’t continue to fund Dietolas and their dictatorial regime. We need to keep pressure on them to hopefully allow the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow that again the

largest state sponsor.

Speaker 1 Of terror understood. What else you want to tell the American people on a Sunday, I mean, they’re drinking their coffee, They’re trying to evaluate confidence in the world. I mean, I believe the world has more confidence that we’re going to have peace right now than than they did last year.

Speaker 2 Well, I don’t want to ruin anybody’s Sunday. But I can tell you my primary focus right now in washingt d C. Is spending, spending, and then spending. We don’t have a revenue problem, and we have an awful tax code.

I would love to simplify and rationalize it, and I’d like to work with the President and the administration do just that. But we have to return spending to a reasonable pre pandemic level. Twenty nineteen, we spent four point four trillion dollars. This year, We’re going to spend about seven point three trillion. And again, I love the House,

love Mike Johnson, but their Buzet budget resolution, all it does is bring spending down to it at you know, only about one point about seven point one trillion dollars. That’s that’s all the spending reduction they achieved. It’s simply not acceptable. That’s still sixty percent over where we were in twenty nineteen. So you know, I’ve laid out four

different options arranging anywhere from five point five to six point five trillion dollars, using passed outlays from Clinton, Obama and Trump, increasing by population growth and inflation, slotting in this year’s Social Security, Medicare, and interest and we could we could reason return to something that’s eight hundred billion dollars less at a minimum, I agree, maybe as much

as one point eight trillion dollars.

Speaker 1 You know, where’s the line item? We need a line item on doge on how much money are we going to say? I was talking to Lee Zeldon the other day and on Mondays and Fridays, only eight percent of the EPA staff for showing.

Speaker 2 Up well dose is doing tremendous work. They’re highlighting, exposing the grotesque welves a waste for an abuse, but that all their efforts have to be turned into legislation, and that’s going to be the hard part. That’s why again I’ve recommended a three step reconciliation process to cure the border.

Extend current tax law as complex and messy as it is, but taking a massive automatic tax increase off the table, then come back in our third round. That’s the big, beautiful bill. But that’s going to be a complex bill.

That’s going to take a lot of time to get it right. It’s gonna be a lot of negotiating. But but do that, uh, take the time to get it right.

Speaker 1 I got a Senator, I got a new one for you. And I know, uh, Governor DeSantis is doing it any any state receiving money from the federal government. Don’t you think that we should have a doze representative in that state to make sure the federal money is being spent properly.

Speaker 2 Yeah, you know, supposedly, we have these respected generals, we have all these you know, all these procedures laws in place to make sure that we you know, don’t misspend even a dollar. And we spend billions of dollars trying not to misspend the dollars, you know. I mean, the federal government is a mess. It’s completely broken. Again. Elon

Musk is a genius. The people he’s working and doges are exposing things. But we need to translate that into long term spending reduction. That’s gonna take some time and effort.

Speaker 1 Well, Senator, thank you so much for calling in this Sunday, and God bless you, God bless America. Let’s bring the country together and uh let’s fix things.

Speaker 2 Have a great day. Take care,
