Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning. Let’s go to New Jersey. And with us today is Christine Helen and she’s the GOP chairperson of New Jersey and a lot of things are happy in New Jersey. Well, Madam chairmans, what the heck is going on in New Jersey? Give us an update.
Well, we are working hard here in the Republican Party in New Jersey. We are rebuilding and we are very focused on our congressional elections right now. As we know, twenty twenty six is a really, really important year for the Republican Party and we believe that New Jersey is going to be one of the most important states in
our great country to be keeping the House in Republican control, and we are very focused on that. We just have a.
Yes, tell us, tell us about that, especial What was the Democratic primary?
Yes, Well, there was primaries on both sides. And this is for Congressional District eleven in New Jersey, which is the district that our new governor, Mikey Cheryl was the congresswoman for and then once she, you know, won the governor ship, vacated the seat and so there was a special election for that seat, and there was a Democratic
primary and a Republican primary. On the Republican side, there was no competition. We have a great, great candidate. His name is Joe Hathaway. He is the mayor of his town of Randolph, and he is working hard. He is the perfect candidate, and we’re really excited about his chances.
And he did not have a primary. He was the only one who was running. And then on the Democrat side, there was kind of a big field and and a big primary election. And the winner of that was a woman named Anna Lilia and she was an assistant to uh, uh the senator in uh, Bernie Sanders. Yes, it was
a big shock on on the Democratic side that she won. She’s a progressive activist. She was endorsed by AOC and Elizabeth Warren, and she was a former advisor to Bernie Sanders and is a progressive activist. And so this was like a real big battle on the Democratic side, and uh, she ended up winning. You know, there was it took
a few days because it was a little bit tight with the continuous ballot count that we have here in New Jersey. But you know, she ended up being victorious in that election, and I think kind of sent sort of a shockwave through the Democratic Party.
That the big question is Democratic Party. Is the Democratic Socialist Party is trying to take over the entire Democratic Party.
Yes, and I think that is what is going on, that we are seeing more and more candidates who have embraced sort of the socialist message. And it’s concerning. It’s concerning for New Jersey, it’s concerning for New York. And you know this is this is what we’re dealing with right now. So the congressional elections this year are super important.
We really need to dig deep, dig down and uh and work really hard to make sure that Republicans keep the House. And there’s a lot lot of key races here in New Jersey. I know we don’t always get a lot of attention in the media about what’s going on here, but we have some real, real key races
where we are trying to either pick up seats or hold our congressional seats, and they are very impliant to the national landscape.
If you keep me informed. I didn’t even know there was a primary. WABC, one of the most powerful stations in the country, thirty seventh center. Their listeners is New Jersey. So just keep us informed.
Yes, yes, I will I promise there’s a lot going on here. And now the special election for that seat, Congressional District eleven, will be these two candidates against each other, the Democratic candidate Mahia and now our governor who who held that seat has now endorsed the progressive activists in this race, and of course our great Republican candidate Joe Hathaway,
and that election is coming up in April, so it’s very important.
Well, I look forward to you if you like to have your congressional people, your Hathaway come on our radio show. Please text me and let me know.
All right, that sounds great.
Well, thank you for coming on this Sunday morning, and look forward to talking to more and let’s keep America free.
