Speaker 1 Sunday morning. I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving with us. Is Sunday morning, is Governor David Pattison. It’s a month left till New Year, Governor Patterson. Did you have a good Thanksgiving?

Speaker 2 I had a very good Thanksgiving dinner. John. I met a family years ago that Mary and I have become very close with, so we were Italian on Thanksgiving. We went out to massive people and hung out with them.

We had a great time. I hope you had as good a time where you were well.

Speaker 1 I was with the family, and to me, that’s the most important thing is being with my children, and that’s for me, that’s Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for that.

Speaker 2 Nothing else like it. Yeah, not to you know, disrupt the tone of the conversation, but there’s some, you know, very disturbing information that’s coming out in the past few days, and it has to do with the safety of President elect Trump and also his appointments to his cabinet and other appointees. And Wednesday morning, there was an attempt to

bomb the home of Howard Ludnick. Now Howard Ludnik for the people knowning us to know this was the co owner of Canter Fitzgerald with his brother, and they used to take turns taking their kids to school. It was his brother’s it was his turn on September eleventh, two thousand and one, and his brother was killed. You know,

when the airplanes hit the building, that’s hard. So it was horrible. I met him in two thousand and eighties, a wonderful person. I’m very proud of him for being appointed by the president, you know, to that position. But for him, of all people, to go through the thought that he could be victimized as same way his brother

was is absolutely outrageous. There have been other attempts, one even on Matt Gates, who is no longer an appointee. He has declined the appointment, and yet his home was threatened in Florida. And you know, after the twenty twenty election, there was some violent, very anti American activity that went on different occasions, and particularly on January sixth, and at

the time, I never thought of it per se as a Republican versus Democrat thing. I sought as a violent bunch of people or bunch of people who are quacks, who who telephone in fake bomb threats just to harass a number of people. And this is going to have to be a bit of an issue in our country

because as soon as President Trump gets in, he has and I don’t think this is a fake warning that he wants to deport a number of illegal aliens and he wants to do it from sanctuary cities. Now, it just makes me think of George Wallace standing up back in the sixties threatening the federal government what they did

if they came into the state of Alabama and tried to integrate things. Wallace certainly changed his point of view over the years, and later in life very magnanimously apologize for what he said. But we don’t have time for apologies right now. Whatever the federal government needs to do that the Cabinet and the President think are the right

thing to do, we’re going to have to get behind them and not get into this feud over what a sanctuary city is. Because the federal statutes always supersede the state’s ones. Shouldn’t be an argument about.

Speaker 1 This, understood. Now, President Trump has gotten up and says there is no sanctuary cities. Uh, And you’ve had several Democratic mayors and governors in Arizona and Colorado says we’re gonna protect the migrants. I mean and uh, I guess the head of the Border, Tom Holland is it says, make my day? How do you sort it? How do

you sort things out?

Speaker 2 John, That’s one guy I wouldn’t want to meet in the dark alley on the wrong night. I’m with you. He’s pretty uh, he’s pretty amped up about what he wants to do. But you see, listen, the heads of these cities and states that feel that way, they have an option. They can protest it non violently, they can

hold protests, they go to court. He can have their say. Yep.

Speaker 2 But once the court will certainly sustain the federal government’s motives here, there’s really nothing more that they can do. So what we really don’t need is the antagonistic remarks that they’ve made, almost a veiled a thread, that there would be some kind of violent intervention, which, by the way, all of them condemned January sixth, and myself among them.

But then they would be the ones to be condemned if they actually repeated that action, this time coming from the other side of the aisle.

Speaker 1 Yes, I mean, what we want is law and order. And you saw last week when we were together, I told you about the new cry of the Republic. Immigration yes, invasion no. And let’s go back to the days of Lei Coca Bill for Gais myself, when we had the Yellow Silent Foundation. We want immigration, but we want people

to come here that love America, want to work hard in the We don’t want criminals, we don’t want drug addicts, we don’t want murderers. And I think the right, that’s the right checks and balances. How do you feel.

Speaker 2 Government, right, John? And for those who don’t fit into those categories, there is a process, there is a pathway to the citizenship, and you know they can get it. And I don’t think that the opposition over the past few years has objected necessarily to the number of people who came in as much as they were objecting to

the backgrounds of the people who came in. And so this would actually no.

Speaker 1 See, I don’t object in the backgrounds. I don’t object that. I don’t object that they’re coming in from the Belgium, Congo or the old world. I didn’t.

Speaker 2 I didn’t mean where they were coming from. I meant the backgrounds in their life, like the things they’ve done. And that’s what I was talking about.

Speaker 1 Well, yeah, but I don’t want murderers because no, I had an own mentor you know, my own mentor used to say it is reasonable to assume a person will do tomorrow or what he did yesterday exactly.

Speaker 2 And that’s I think a fair assessment about our country. It is not a place that if you just get tired of where you are, you come there. It’s not a place that you just got out of prison, so you will go and commit the same acts in a different place. And I think, really, if this is handled correctly,

that this could be a way that we as Americans start to get together and start to respect each other and also understand that we’ll protest what each other is doing, but we’ll be doing it in a way that is what we belie to be the best interests of the country.

We’ll disagree sometimes on what that is, but will be a whole lot in better shape than to start hearing that a newly elected president and his cabinet members are being threatened.

Speaker 1 Understood anything else you want to tell the Martian.

Speaker 2 People, Well, this is I think a critical time in our country’s history. We are going to have a president who has sort of admitted that his first time around he really didn’t understand how the government worked to the extent that he would like to have. I think he has figured out how to to affect change. And also,

you know, there’s you know, some of the issues that we won’t agree with him about, and sometimes he won’t get his way, and he you know, acts out a little bit. But I think that things are a whole lot better than I would have imagined right before the election, and even in terms of the election. But the president

and as people did and you’re reading about it more and more now, is they were more about holding down the opposition vote than winning it. And if you look at the statistics, a lot of the areas that Senator Vice President Biden won in twenty twenty, Harris got the same percentages of those votes minority votes, you know, African

American male votes, but there were so many fewer of them that it made the difference in the election. And the biggest mistake they made that your friend Bill Clinton pointed out, John is they let these transgendered commercials go on for two months and didn’t put up one commercial to refute it.

Speaker 1 Understood, David Pattison join the rest of the weekend, and God bless you, God Bless America, God bless the world.
