Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday Morning with us today is Ed Cox, GOP chairman of New York State, but a national recognized GOP figure and one common sense guy. Uh. Ed Cox, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving a weekend, uh, and Uh a weekend.
And we had. We had a great Thanksgiving a family here together. We really loved it. I really loved it that John.
There is so many things going on right now, and I don’t understand what President Biden is doing. All of a sudden he’s giving out a big in here, a bigin here. Uh. The other day he gave six billion dollars to this quasi bankrupt company for electric vehicles. What is it with? How are we giving away taxpayers money
to bankrupt companies?
Look, this is this is what democrats like like President by I can’t do. They And given that Republicans coming in as the as the next president, they’re shoving as much money out the door to their friends as they can do, whether it’s gonna whether it’s going to have any beneficial impact for America or not. Here it’s six
billion dollars going out the door to a build a factory for a failing electric vehicle company that will have much harder times under a Trump administration, and it makes no sense, just a waste of money. This is what if this is just six billion dollars, but they’ve got a two hundred and fifty billion dollar fund that they
can that they can give away loan guarantees to companies like you remember Solidra under President Obama. Another Clean the New Deal, a company that failed after a billion billions of dollars loan to them. This is what they’re trying to do. This is money for their political friends, for their political projects, regardless of the fact that this is
taxpayers money or money that’s borrowed from by the treasury one way or the other. And the Biden did this big time with the and he paid the price for John with respect to the American Recovery Act. That was one point nine trillion dollars of taxpayers and borrowed money.
That was that went right out into the economy in twenty twenty one when the economy is ready recovering and the and the supply change were still weak, and the result was nine percent inflation a year later in twenty twenty two, and that nine percent inflation and over time, even though it came down gradually it has over the
last three and a half years been twenty percent plus inflation. And the American voters who who lived paycheck to paycheck, their paychecks were worthless because their wages been more understand.
Now, ed Cos you’ve been around Washington.
That’s why he lost ed Cox.
You’ve been around Washington forever. You were President Nixon’s son in law. You’ve been there since the nineteenth or whatever, seventies, sixties, seventies, I don’t know.
Yeah, No, Look, I served in the Reagan administration in the energy area of a eighty eight billion dollar government corporation that could have done big long guarantees just like this in the energy area to produce more oil out of a piance base and et cetera, using new techniques.
And you know what we found. We looked at it and we decided, this is a waste of taxpayers money, and we’re only going to do it for projects that really made sense. And project after project came to us that it didn’t make sense for the effort to be done.
Two years later, the we we folded up and returned eighty billion dollars to the federal treasury. That’s what should be done, and that’s what that’s what our publican government does.
Uh the trillion dollar question. Yes, all these stupid things that President Biden is doing. Now, can President and I don’t know what the rules are, can President Trump undo them on January twentieth.
Not where there’s a giveaway like this, where the fund is just hand over. Now this have been a loan guarantee. I don’t like that closely. But if the papers are signed, it’s done and you can’t undo it. That’s the problem.
So you’re giving away the taxpayers.
Money until the inauguration.
So he’s giving he’s giving away the taxpayers money and some dumb.
Things exactly just like just like President Obama did with the companies like Cylindro that failed ultimately a waste of taxpayers money for some ideological reason or to a friend of the administration, and sometimes both.
And then they then I guess they give big contributions in the future. I have to laugh about it.
Well, it’s nothing, it’s not a laughing matters.
Yes, it’s a lot of money.
Laughing, it’s a lot of money, a lot of money.
It’s either either laughing or I get to get the clean X out and start crying at Cox. Thank you for calling in this Sunday morning, and uh well, let’s catch up again real soon.
I’d like to do like looking forward to it, John, Thank you,
