Speaker 1 Sunday Morning with us is Gordon g Chang and his Twitter is at Gordon g Chang and twenty four hours a day you can go to his Twitter and find out what’s really going on. Gordon. This is the last month of the year. It’s December one. What do you see for the end of the year. Do we have

enough time to survive until President Trump takes over?

Speaker 2 Yeah? Great question. You know, November has been a good month because uncharacteristically, China has been quiet in its peripheral seas and its waters. And nobody really expected this. I think it’s because Si Jimping believes that he has to give President Trump a wide berth. He just doesn’t want to take on the new American leader. And we know

we saw on Monday Trump’s tariffs. Those are an important start and this is going to change the way the world trades with each other. So right now Trump is getting getting busy changing the globe.

Speaker 1 Understood. And my friends that we talk about the stupid things that the President Biden is doing by giving arming the Ukraine and they’re afraid of starting World War three. But I think Putin is too smart to be to go into that trap. What do you what say you.

Speaker 2 Yeah, Putin has been threatening for two years to use his nuclear weapons and he hasn’t been doing it. And I think it’s because he understands that with President Trump coming in, Trump is unpredictable and could very well decide to make Russia pay. At this point, you know, anything can happen. Putin can surprise us. But I don’t think

he’s going to use his most destructive instruments of war. I think he is going to keep the war conventional, and of course that would be a good thing.

Speaker 1 Well, when the Ukraine started to shoot some rockets into Russia, Putin got even and sending a cruise missile, a hyper missile, I think, But it wasn’t armed. Do you just I guess you just wanted to get his message across.

Speaker 2 Yes, that’s probably the explanation for it. However, we have seen the Russian army engage inexplicably inexplicably poor tactics, and so who knows what’s going on with Russia right now. But yes, this was probably message sending, and I think the message has been received. But I don’t think that the Ukraine or the West is intimidated by that.

Speaker 1 Now’s the what’s the scuttle, but on the NATO situation where McCrone is trying to go on in his own I mean, I mean, and is kind of dumb, but the friendship done some dumb things, lady too.

Speaker 2 Yes, well, this goes back to de Gaulle, where de Gaulle pulled out of the integrated command in NATO, where French seeks its own way, and so Macron is just following in that path. This isn’t good, especially because Russia is threatening not just not just conducting war in Ukraine, but it looks like he’s conducting operations in the rest

of Europe as well, and so we need a France which is fully on board, and right now they’re not.

Speaker 1 And now we’re talking about Ukraine, we’re talking about everything else. We’re supposed to be talking about the Far East in China. To tell us more about what’s going on in China.

Speaker 2 I think the most important thing is that the Chinese economy is continuing to erode. We’re seeing some very distressing signs. Si Jimping’s policies are actually aggravating problems, they’re not alleviating them. He’s turned his back on consumption, which everyone says is the only sustainable basis for the country, and he’s trying to export his way out of an increasingly grim situation.

The Chinese people right now are very upset. We’re seeing these mass incidents where people are using cars to kill dozens of people at a time, and this shows the disintegration of Chinese society. If this continues, I think the Communist Party is going to have to focus inward instead of outward, because right now they’ve got a serious situation

on their hand.

Speaker 1 Understood, you think that they’re going to occurtail. The Chinese are going to curtail what they’ve been doing in the China Sea and their actions against Taiwan and the Philippines.

Speaker 2 At least for the moment, because we’re seeing China engage in some really interesting behavior, and it’s not only geopolitically. Internally, we’re seeing China drive down the value of the REMMB, the currency, and I think that’s in anticipation of prolonged trade struggle with the United States and indeed with the rest of the world. So China right now, I think

is at a point where they understand that they’ve reached peak China and now they are just trying to defend what they have.

Speaker 1 What else would you like tell you American people.

Speaker 2 This is an interesting time. I mean, if we go back to October, it looked increasingly grim in East Asia. Now we are starting to see maybe the makings of a reset with President Trump. That’s really important. Of course, December and early January are going to be crucial because Si jimping could easily pull a fast one before Trump

actually becomes president. But I think the Chinese understand that they have this is not a time for them to act up, and so therefore we’re seeing a very good period. May not last, John, but at least at this point we can sort of breathe a sigh of relief.

Speaker 1 Yep, I think you’re right there. I mean, I think we’ve President Trump is taking back our country. I think he’s going to solve a lot of problems. He has threatened Mexico and Canada, and I think that I think Mexico is going to.

Speaker 2 Listen, say they have to. They’ve allowed the cartels to sell fentanyl across the border. They’ve allowed the caravan caravans to cross Mexico. That’s going to stop with President Trump, because he is not going to allow Mexico to continue in activities which directly injure the United States. Those days are over.

Speaker 1 I agree with you one hundred percent. Yeh. Canada. Trudeau his popularity right, he’s down to.

Speaker 2 Twenty percent, yes, and he has to call election by full of next year. Nobody thinks that he can win, and very few people think that his party can win even if they change leaders. The Conservatives are very quiet because they do not want to say anything to rock the boat, which means that they believe that they all

they have to do is to sort of glide into the next premiership. I don’t know if they’re right, but at least that’s their calculation right now. They’re not saying anything.

Speaker 1 Gun Chang, thank you for everything you do, and God bless you, and God bless America.

Speaker 2 Yeah, God bless you, John, and thank you so much.
