Speaker 1 Sunday morning, three days in the election. Witness this morning is John Chachis. He’s been a media executive for his life. He uh uh ran media for I think the Lazard Frere and and uh uh then he ran for the US Senate and he’s got his opinions. Uh John, Sunday morning, how do you feel about how the election is going?

Speaker 2 I think the election is going to be is going to be a rather cataclysmic experience for America. I think Americans are going to wake up the day after Tuesday and then and the nation is going to stare at a red map for the electoral college and it’s it’s going to be fascinating because the media has focused on

the national polling saying that these are you know, it’s a dead heat, they’re within one percentage point each of whatnot. But I think what’s going to happen is we’re going to have another of these conversations about how different the electoral map is from what the well from what the popular vote is. And I think it’s going to be

a real interesting national conversation. I think Trump is going to win by a lot, and I think it speaks to from the media’s perspective. They’re going to have a real challenge because they’ve spent months and months talking about this election through the discussion of the national vote. National vote doesn’t mean anything. The electoral college is what matters.

Speaker 1 I believe you’re right. I’ve met a lot of people from around the country and a lot of people feel that she’s not qualified to be president. Yet the polls are fifty to fifty. I mean, I don’t understand that.

Speaker 2 Well, Look, we have a nation and a model that was designed by people to keep the country together. Because if all you did is you had a popular vote, ten cities in America would get together an elected president every time, and everybody in between would feel like they’re not part of it. Well, you’re going to have exactly

the opposite this time around. I think they’re going to see elevated voting in rural districts, significant elevation, and I think that voting is going to be decidedly in favor were of the GOP because those people are unsatisfied, unhappy till that the country is on the wrong track. All of those statistics that you’re reading would point to the

idea that other than in metropolitan cities, people in the heartland of this country think the country is on the wrong track, and when they come to when they come out to vote, it doesn’t take a lot of them to change the outcome of the electoral college. I think the electroc college could be well into the three hundreds for Trump,

and he may win some states that people never would have thought would be in play. And when that happens, the media is going to be sitting here, you know, trying to explain, gosh, we really didn’t you know, we really didn’t talk about it the right way. That’s really what the elections are going to reveal it. Well, there’s

a lot.

Speaker 1 Of angry people out there. Somebody is trying to change America, and we love America the way it is. And I don’t know how this is happening, and how those people sneaked into the Democratic Party and took control.

Speaker 2 Well, it’s you know, it’s a very interesting problem. Everybody, everybody goes to where their heart and base is, and the Democratic Party has become a party of essentially urban progressive thinking, forgetting the fact that ninety percent of the land masks in the country is quite you know, or somewhat right of center, not significantly left the center, and

so the power based Democratic Party and their voting base has shifted dramatically, and the electrical college is good. Electoral college is going to reveal that it is a leavening power over the popular vote. And I think media in particular, which has a job to try to bring facts and description, are going to have a hard time because what they

really are going to need to say is why did all those people in the rural parts of the country rise up and vote as aggressively as they did against a sitting incumbent and the Democratic Party And the answers are ones that are pretty clear. The people don’t feel that the countries on the right track. All the post

COVID policies were a disaster. People don’t go to their office anymore. We have zillion immigrants, illegal aliens coming across our border. All of those kinds of things which have real traction with the heartland and the country have been sort of glossed over somehow in favor of talking about how acerbic and difficult and problematic Donald Trump is. And

what they’re going to find out is the American people don’t give a damn. American people.

Speaker 1 Thirty thousand murderers have been imported, and political political operatives that political appointees have been ordered around, ordered around the border patrol to let them in. And these murderers are in our country. I mean to me, that is more treason than that.

Speaker 2 Well, and what you’re And I have good friends, smart educated friends. When I sit with them and they just shake their head and say, John, how can you possibly think it’s a good thing for Donald Trump to be president again. He’s such a controversial and difficult figure. And my answer to them is, forget what I think you’ll

see tens of millions of people who know exactly what he is and what he is, and who are going to vote for him and put him back in power for another term for exactly the reason you just said, John, which is people look at the country and they don’t recognize it anymore. They don’t understand why people don’t get

up and go to their office five days a week. They don’t understand why there are millions of people coming across our border and not stopped by We have the most powerful military on the planet. If we wanted to close our border, it would take about five seconds to close it. And you know, those are political decisions that

have been made by the sitting administration, and it’s going to come back to hunt them. But to me, the part that’s fascinating will be what does ABC and NBC and CBS do when they have to sort of wake up.

And it’s a sort of replay of that night when hill or Clinton had been said, you know, people thought she was going to have a run on the tables over Donald Trump in twenty sixteen, and she was defeated in all the blue states. I think we could see the blue wall more red than blue this year. And

it’s a commentary about you know, the center of the country and rural people in the country rising up and pushing back against the elite and the media rather than reporting has been part of the circus, and now they’re going to have to step away from the circus and figure out how they change their reporting and explain what happened.

Certainly can’t just be that half the country is stupid and doesn’t understand. That’s not an answer.

Speaker 1 Well, John Tatchers three days away, we’re going to be live in the studios on Tuesday night, and if you’re around, please come and John we’re going to know in a few days. Thank you so much. For calling in today, this Sunday morning.
