Speaker 1 What is today is Marshall Blackburn, US Senator from the great State of Tennessee and Senator Blackburn, well, good to hear from you again. How are you.

Speaker 2 I am doing well, and we are working hard here in thee and looking forward to what the year might brain, and of course looking forward to what is going to happen in November of this year, a Senator. I, you know, I always considered the Senate the elder statesman of our country, and I am.

Speaker 1 Still disturbed that the elder statesman of our country, the Democrats and the Republicans, cannot sit around the table and make a deal, especially on our own borders. Why is that? I don’t understand it, you.

Speaker 2 Know, John, I think that there are so many people who are with you on that as our goal should be to secure our nation’s borders and protect the sovereignty of our nation. And people are so perplexed that we have an administration that every single day they keep working to try to find new ways to make illegal immigration legal.

It is their goal, and they seem to be focused on it like nothing else really matters. You know, They’ve got to find a way to get all of these individuals into the country.

Speaker 1 Well, you know, over one hundred thousand Americans have died of fat and oil coming over the border supply to the Mexican cartels by our enemies. And one hundred thousand Americans in twelve months. That’s more than died in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Korea War. I mean, it just doesn’t make sense anymore. And the borders, they just I believe in immigration,

but we need checks and balances who’s coming and going.

Speaker 2 Well, we need to know who is coming into our country and why they’re coming. And that is why so many Americans are now saying the border is their number one issue. They look at those numbers of three hundred and two thousand people that came across the border in December alone. They look at the stats of eighty known

terrorist watch lists, eighty coming into this country since the beginning of the fiscal year, and they’re saying, wait a minute, what is happening here? What is going on? It is important that we secure the border, and of course under President Trump, we had a fairly secure border. In four years, he only had eleven terrorists. It came to that southern

border trying to sneak in the country, and you didn’t have these hundreds of thousands of paroles and asylum seekers that are coming into the country. And this is why people are saying, we have to secure that southern border and end this drug trafficking, this human trafficking, sex trafficking, the entry of thousands of people from countries of interest,

the thousands of criminals from other countries that are coming to our border. And John people know that this is happening and they want to see something done about it, and they cannot believe that we won’t go down there and put a barrier up what border Patrol has been asking for for the last thirty years, and make certain

we know who’s coming in this country and whin they’re coming absolutely.

Speaker 1 And I remember during the Iowa UH Caucus last week. I remember those people Middle America, like Tennessee is Middle of America, sitting in the diner and and you ask them the most important thing for them that was all of a sudden, it was the border again. And you could see their faces. They couldn’t understand why they’re just

letting people in that we don’t know who’s coming in. And I interviewed Secretary Pompeo last Sunday, and UH Secretary of Pompeo says, when the head of the FBI, Christopher Ray, stands up in the middle of Congress and presses the button and says, I am worried. There’s a lot of red red buttons going off with terrorism and and and

nobody we re action.

Speaker 2 Well, that’s exactly right. And people are saying if the FBI says they see red lights flashing everywhere they look, and they’re concerned about having hundreds of terrorists in the country, and hundreds of MS thirteen gang members in the country, and the cartels who are pushing people into the country.

They put people in the country from one hundred and seventy different countries last year, and the FBI sees the danger, but this administration does not, and this administration is taking no action to secure that border. People are saying, hey, wait a minute, we need a different approach on this, because it’s imperative that we know who is coming and

why they’re coming, and that people that have overstayed their visas that they are deported from the country.

Speaker 1 Well. Absolutely, I mean, I remember I was an immigrant, Marcia Senator, and I came here six months old, and I remember going down and swearing allegiance to the to the United States of America when I was six years old.

I remember that day still, and nobody is swearing allegiance to the United States of America.

Speaker 2 And people want to see our country put first and taking care of our citizens first and securing our country. And right now they know they can see it in their communities. Every town’s a border town, every state’s a border state because of the fentanyl and the drugs, and as you said, the thousands of people that have lost

their lives to fentanyl poisoning the way it is affecting so many of our young people, and they’re saying, you’ve got to do something about this. And local law enforcement officers, like in Tennessee, all of my sheriffs and we’ve got ninety five counties. I visit with each of these counties every year, and John Day will tell you that they

can’t address the drugs, the gangs, the crime, the human trafficking until we secure the southern border. And I think as we look at this year, what I’m hearing more about and more from is security moms and women who are saying, look, border security, national security, crime.

Speaker 1 Yeah it is that’s number one. I mean President Biden’s open border policy is putting Americans at risk.

Speaker 2 Yes, it is, absolutely.

Speaker 1 Santa Blackburn, I look forward to seeing you soon, whether it’s in New York, Washington, or Tennessee. And God bless you and God bless America you too.

Speaker 2 Take care by now. Thank you,
