Speaker 1 Well, where did the markets go today? Will us today, Like every Sunday, we have John Cherrit and John, can you give us an update on the markets?

Speaker 2 Thank you, John. Good morning. Quite the week on wall stream, beginning with that US China trade deal last weekend negotiated in Switzerland by the Treasury Secritiscottessant coming hard on the heels of the UK. One also CPI, which is inflation, the inflation we will pay in the stores and the gas stations and the services that we use lower than

expected two point three percent. That’s very good at an annual clip. And you’ve got to go back to twenty twenty one to find inflation that low. Also general excitement about President Trump’s trade deals in the Middle East, with tens of billions of dollars coming into the US, including one hundred and sixty Boeing planes being bought by Cutter

and thousands of AI chips being bought by Saudi and the UAE benefiting in Video which was up eleven percent for the week, and BA, which was up by four percent for the week. Markets were higher for the week as well, the S and P five hundreds of the good by five percent. The news El Toro which is

an Israeli finnpech platform you can buy and sell things on there. It was founded in two thousand and seven. It came to the market at the Nasdag this week and closed up twenty eight point nine percent at the end of its first trading day. Walmart was up on Friday and up for the week, but they are warning

they may have to raise their prices on the shelves next month because of TARIS. And United Health a much troubled company this time a Dow Jones component. Up on Friday, John but down fifty percent for the month, and this after it was announced a criminal probe is going on into potential Medicare fraud at United Health, and also the

CEO stepped down as well. All of this largely unheard of by Wall Street. Regarding United Health and John in the week to come, lots of retail earnings. We get Home Depot and Low’s, which me being English refers to as DIY stores as in doing yourself, but we know them here as home improvement stores. Also we hear from Target,

the big box store, and TJ. Matts the discount store. All of that John in the week ahead.

Speaker 1 Thank you so much, John Chery can you tell us the Dow Jones would have been higher, even higher if it wasn’t affected by United Healthcare.

Speaker 2 I think that’s right. You have to remember about United Healthcare. It is a Dow Jones component and a major part of it. And the thing to remember about the Dow, unlike the other indices that we have in New York, is that it’s weighted. So if a company like Walmart or United Health certainly, or Boeing, So if a company

like United Health or Boeing, for example, is lower or higher by a handful of points, that can affect the overall index quite significantly. And United Health is really having difficulties at the moment. Ceo, one of them was killed in Midtown Manhattan a couple of weeks ago. As you know, the company is also recently suffering from poor performance figures,

and it pulled its guidance and now the CEO has gone and there’s rumors of a criminal prosecution going ahead, though as of the end of last week, United Health said it hadn’t heard from the Department of Justice. But United Health is a very interesting US corporation and a major Dow Jones component.

Speaker 1 Job. Thank you so much for calling and do it. Catch up with you again next week.

Speaker 2 Thank you John very much.
