Speaker 1 When is today’s doctor Peter Michloes And he brightens up our Sunday morning and tells us, how are we going to live longer? And how are we going to live healthier? And our expression amongst ourselves live wrong and prosper And a lot of your Star Trek friends know where that came from. Uh, doctor Peter Mihllos, what’s your advice today?

Speaker 2 Well, today we’re going to talk about something very interesting, a topic that’s been in the news, and that was that in one of the presidential candidates, mister Kennedy, he talked about having had a brain worm and it’s a fascinating story. He was having headaches and the memory loss and fatigue, and he went for a scan and they

found a dark spot in his brain. And there was a hospital down south and they were ready to do surgery for a brain room. But there was a doctor in New York who convinced him that he didn’t think that it was that, that it was a cyst caused by a worm. And believe it or not, those guys

who don’t eat pork and have kosher food, there’s something historically important about that, because it turns out that the most common brain. Tapeworm comes from pork. It’s called the pork tapeworm, and it’s called te solium. And it turns out that was a diagnosis when they gave them the anti parasitic agents and then they give you some oral

steroids which brings down the inflammation. Then you get all better and now still alive. No, what happens is that it dies because your body’s immune system surrounds it and it forms a cyst around it. But that inflammation generated inside the brain, which is a small area. The brain doesn’t like inflammation, so you get headaches, memory loss, sometimes

even seizures, and it could it could be dead or partially dead, surrounded by your immune cells which form that cyst, and it shows up as a dark spot on MRI. But you don’t need to operate on it. What you do is you need to kill it off and the anti parasitic agents, which they’re like bug bug killers, and

they basically stopped the replication and poison the tapeworm. The reason they like the brain is because it’s an immune privileged area and it’s a good place to hide the same reason why there’s an eyeworm quod uncle psychiasis that likes to hide inside the eye and damages the cornea.

It used to be the most common cause of infectious blindness of the cornea until our friend Roy Vagilo has donated all the ibmectan to the African countries and it killed off that particular worm.

Speaker 1 That was when Roy Ragalus was chairman of the Mark Pharmaceutical Company and now he’s chairman of Columbia Presbyterian.

Speaker 2 Columbia Presbyterian and the amazing work they do up there. And then the other interesting thing we’re going to talk about today is the news that’s coming out about vaping and the chemicals that are in these vaping cigarettes and how they actually damage the cornea. And it turns out they have chemicals that are like formaldyde, which is embombing fluid,

and it’s something to the cornea called crosslinking. Well, formaldehyde is also used to preserve the paper in cigarette. So when you have a cigarette and you’re smoking, you’re not only smoking the tobacco, you’re smoking the paper and guess what’s in there, formal dyde, which is embombing fluid, and that’s part of the problem, and it can damage the

eyes and it even aggravates people with dry eye. There is a lot of people would dry eye and they don’t know why they have it. But vaping can damage the cornea as well, which is also fascinating. And there are other chemicals.

Speaker 1 In there question each on all the cigarette.

Speaker 2 Paper, any the way you make any kind of paper white is part of the chemicals they use are alde eyes and that’s what helps to bleach it in make it white and to preserve the paper, it’s like formaldeide.

So when you’re smoking it. And also the people in the room have it worse because the person smoking it is stucking on the filter. The person in the room with secondhand smoke has it a lot worse. And now we know that macular degeneration is a multifold increased incidence if you’re around a smoker, you live with a smoke,

or you’re married to one, that you’ll get macula degeneration later in your lifetime.

Speaker 1 Holy cow, I’ll yell at my wife. Yeah.

Speaker 2 Vote, Vaping and smoking are not a good thing. And also the marijuana studies that came out of Duke that it damages the sperm of men who smoke marijuana, which is generational epigenetic it actually damages the DNA and they pass those genes on. And there’s even published papers now that came out of Duke about the relationship between the

fathers who smoked a lot of marijuana and children with autism. But these are things that know now.

Speaker 1 Is that whitey is the birthrate might be down.

Speaker 2 Well, smoking turns out not to be good, just like alcohol fetal alcohol syndrome. You know, because everybody says, well what about alcohol, it’s legal. Yeah, it also damages fetuses and mothers who drink alcohol. So a lot of these things, it’s moderation or avoid them at all. But we’re a big bag of chemicals and we’re very sensitive to other

chemicals and toxins. So we need to try to live clean, to live long and prosper and do your due diligence and speak to your doctor about these things. But young people, please don’t take up vaping. It’s not healthy, it’s non natural and it wasn’t part of the way we evolved.

Speaker 1 And doctor one last question, Robert Kennedy that worm did did worm just die or did they have did they remove it?

Speaker 2 No, it died. He didn’t need the surgery. The doctor in New York who spotted the scan and says, I don’t think this is a tumor and basically told him get the treatment. He got the treatment, and he got all better. Your headaches, memory loss, fatigue all away, and the brain inflammation quiets down. But again, the places are

it’s not common in the United States, it’s very rare, but people who travel to Mexico, Asia, Africa, Brazil, those are the places where it’s most common.

Speaker 1 Doctor piter Me, hellos, thank you so much for bringing us up to date and live long and prosper and we’ll talk to you again real soon.

Speaker 2 And thanks for awards getting the truth out on the CATS round Table
