Speaker 1 Well, Sunday morning, the election well nine ten days away. Will us this morning? Is Anthony Bsposito, and he’s the Congressman in Long Island and he wants to go back to Washington and he thinks he can do the best job for Long Island. Tell us your territory in Long Island.

You’re in Nasau County.

Speaker 2 Well, good morning, John, thanks for having me. It’s great to be with you this Sunday. And I want to remind everyone it’s early. Voting is on right now so they could cast their ballot. But I cover from the city line right where Ubs Arena is, all the way to Seafert and want off from Old Country Road down

to the beautiful, beautiful beaches of the South Shore.

Speaker 1 Understood. Now, are you getting opposition this year?

Speaker 2 I am? I am. I’m running against a woman who has run for office a few times. She was successful. Back in twenty seventeen, she ran for town supervisor, served one term as town supervisor, and was rejected by the voters two years later. And I served on the same town board as her during that short tenure. And you know,

one of the things that I’ve been saying about to voters is the fact that being in Congress, especially for me, I was named the eleventh bipartisan member of Congress. You need to be able to build coalitions and have conversations and create friendships in order to get legislation passed, especially when you’re dealing with such a slim majority, which I

think we will be dealing with moving forward. And my opponent couldn’t even build coalitions with the people of her own party on the Hempstead And the.

Speaker 1 Next talk about the facts. You’re running. You’re running as a Republican. You’re running and you’re going to be running as a Republican. She’s running as a Democrat. Now ninety of the people running as Democrats end up voting with Nancy Pelosi or whatever. I mean, where do where does she stand in a migrant crisis? Where do you stand

in a microan crisis? Because you know in New York, Nasau County is getting invaded that.

Speaker 2 They are John There’s been fifteen million people that have come into this country illegally. Just last week, we had a Homeland Security briefing. I sit on the Homeland Security Committee, and we were told that over four hundred thousand individuals that have come across our southern border. Thirteen ninety nine of them were convicted of murder in their country of origin,

and then another two hundred thousand plus who were convicted of sexual assault.

Speaker 1 So bottom line on the border, bottom line, people should vote for you if you don’t want any more bigots in Nasau.

Speaker 2 County, that’s right. And my opponent, well, she wants to give away Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare to those fifteen million migrants that have come here illegally.

Speaker 1 That’s wrong. So it’s a big distinction between you and your opponent. Now you also stand for are uh what else that that you feel is important to the people of Nassau County.

Speaker 2 Well, one of the things that’s critically important is the restoration of salt to make life more affordable. And I’ve been on the front lines of not only getting a piece of legislation on the floor this past Congress, but you know, seeing it through and in that process.

Speaker 1 Now, that’s that’s where New York State people for people don’t don’t understand salt is not everybody sophisticated. Is that you can deduct New York City, New York State taxes from your from your federal taxes.

Speaker 2 Do I guess right, correct, So it allows you to for for a deduction makes life, puts more money in your pocket. But what it comes down through is we we had a piece of legislation on the floor, me and Mike Lawler uh to uh to make life more affordable, and every New York Democrat voted against it.

Speaker 1 And and you voted. You. Donald Trump says if he’s president, he’ll he’ll get a done tax deduction and and uh, I’ve heard that. And and the Congressman said they’re going to get it done too.

Speaker 2 That’s true. And you heard him at the National Coliseum. He called me out specifically and said, we are going to get salt across the finish line. And that’s critically important. And you know, as someone I served for an entire career in the New York City Police Department, retired as a decorated detective, and obviously making sure our communities are

safe and putting law and order on our streets is critically important. My opponent, you know, she ran again under the Working Families Party, who you know has called for the complete defunding of police.

Speaker 1 Well that’s the other thing. Okay, here’s the third thing. That you want law and order, You’re next police officer. You want law and order and and and your opponent does not believe in that. She believes in the baill law.

Is that true?

Speaker 2 And not only does she not only does she believe in the bail law, but she’s been board of Evolve Kathy Hulkal’s congestion pricing and the antillary housing, taking away zoning rights and all of the overreach of the state government.

That’s where she falls in line. And you said it best she God forbid gets elected. She will vote in line every time with Hakeem Jeffries, with Nancy Pelosi, with AOC with the rest of the nonther way.

Speaker 1 She’s gonna vote for less police, She’s gonna vote for more bail law. She’s gonna vote for more migrants for Nasau County.

Speaker 2 That’s for sure. She’s going to make our communities less safe, and she’s going to put criminals ahead of law abiding citizens.

Speaker 1 Well, Anthony D. D Esposito, I think the people in Nassau County have no choice but to vote for you.

Speaker 2 I would hope so, John, This is a woman when she was supervisor, as she voted against a bipartisan tax cut budget. I put together a tax cut budget and she was the only person on the board to vote no.

So you have an opportunity to vote for someone who cuts your taxes or someone like her who’s a tax hiker.

Speaker 1 Anti d esposito. If I lived in your district, I would vote for you. Thank you for coming on this Sunday morning. Let nine days go to the election. The people of Nassau County want to be feeled safe. They got to vote for you. Thank you, Thank you for take care
