Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning, nine days city election. What is his Congressman Mike Lawler from the Hudson Valley Rockland County area, and well, Congressman Lawla nine days away, how do you see things?
Thanks for having me, John, I feel great. You know, we are on the verge of holding this seat. Two years ago we flipped this district, defeating Sean Maloney, the former chair of the D Triple C and ending Nancy Pelosi’s reign a speaker. This is a seat that determined the outcome of control of Congress, and we’ll do so
once again. I’m running against Mandare Jones, a former member of Congress who was the third most progressive member of Congress. He voted with AOC and the Squad ninety seven percent of the time. He’s supported defunding the police, cashless bail, open borders, wanted to decriminalize border crossings, provide blanket amnesty to criminal aliens. Wanted to give cops and rate the
the right to vote from prison.
And this is your opponent, in other words, your opponent once they you know, wants to do certain things. And you are for law and order, and you are for closing the border versus he’s for voting with President Biden or voting with with Vice President Harris.
No question. You know he agrees with Vice President Harris about decriminalizing border crossings. They want to ban tracking. They you know, these are the same folks that want government takeover of health care and juxtapose that with me. I rated the fourth Moost bipartisan member of Congress. My focus has been on the affordability crisis impacting constituents all across
the district from the high cost of groceries, the high cost of energy utility bills. Housing. The average mortgage cost is up one thousand dollars a month in my district, So people are struggling, and that’s been my focus on how we can reduce that, ease the tax burden, rein in government spending which gave us the record inflation. We
need to secure the border. It’s why I supported Hr two to Secure the Border Act, which would have reformed our asylum and parole process.
And your opponent actually keep the borders open like the Democrats know.
Oh, no questions. He was a hook line and thinker with everyone during his two years in Congress. Again wanted open borders, wanted to defund Ice, called Ice agents terrorists. This is someone who is not serious about addressing these challenges, not serious about addressing the public safety crisis that we Does.
He believe in law in order? Does he believe in having more policemen in our city or state to keep law in order?
No, this is someone who called for defunding the police. He wanted to end mass incarceration. He wanted to repeal Quali Fied immunity for every law enforcement officer in America. He called cops racist and white supremacists. This is not somebody who is serious about attack, about tackling the crime crisis that we’re seeing in New York City. You know, John,
right now in Manhattan, three quarters of those arrested for crimes in Manhattan are migrants. Oh my god, this is a crisis. This is a crisis that the Democrats have created.
Well why should be why should there be a decision by the people in your counties? Who are they going to vote for? I mean, I you have a house in Trapaqua. How want law and order? Well?
That’s it? And I think across my district people want that. Fifty percent of households in my district have a cop. A firefighter, a veteran living in the household. People do not support these disastrous policies. And I think on November fifth, MONDE.
Jones is going to hear loud and clear that he is not wanted as their congressman.
I just that is mind boggling. What’s the number one issue? I mean, the prices under President Trump, gasoline was two dollars a gallon. Under President Biden, it went from four dollars five dollars a gallon. And the prediction is if President Trump becomes president again, it will go back down to two dollars a gallon. If Harris wins, you look
back up to five dollars a gallon.
There’s no question. I mean, she’s calling for the largest tax increase in American history. She wants to ban natural gas, she wants to, you know, decrease domestic production of energy. We need to grow our economy. That’s the only way we’re going to reduce prices. We need to rein in federal spending. We need to reduce the tax burden on
Americans and businesses so that we can have a ibrant and growing economy. It is the number one issue facing my district is the affordability crisis. You know, we lead the nation in out migration here in New York. It has nothing to do with the weather and everything to do with the cost of living and the quality of life.
And we need to reverse the disastrous policies we’ve seen under the Biden Harris administration as well as the local administration and the Atoms administration here in New York. These policies are crippling our state and forcing New Yorkers to flee.
So my focus will continue to be addressing the affordability crisis, but we need to make sure that we keep the House in order to do that, And if people want to support me, they should go to Lawler for Congress dot com or text Lawler to eight five double seven.
This race will determine control of Congress well.
Thomas from Mike Lawler. If I lived in the county right now, maybe I should move my vote voters registration to trapel Claw. I would vote for you, but that you thank you for everything you do, and God bless you, God bless America.
God bless you. Thank you.
