Speaker 1 Sunday morning. But this is Steve Moore, one of the country’s meeting economists, with a great show on w ABC called More Money, and Steve give us an update on what what do you think is going on with the confidence in the economy? What’s going on with going I mean with twenty three weeks through Christmas, four weeks through

New Year’s you give you tell us.

Speaker 2 Well, look, John, I think, first of all, there’s been an incredible bounce in the economy since November fifth. There’s no question about it. It is. It is an amazing thing. You see it in what’s happening with consumer spending. What happened over the Thanksgiving weekend, best shopping weekend ever for the stores. You see it in consumer confidence. You see

it in the stock market. My gosh, it’s been on an incredible terror And so I think people and investors and families and workers and businesses see good things happening when Trump takes office. With respect to deregulation, with respect to producing more energy. I mean, these are the issues John, you’ve you’ve described as the common sense issues that can

make the economy grow faster. And so I’m very optimistic and I think most Americans are too, so.

Speaker 1 The optimism level is way up. UH. The UH people are hoping that interest rates are going to be dropping, even though even though Powell, who I think hates Trump, said I don’t think I’m going to drop interest rates.

Speaker 2 Well, it’s hard. It’s hard to figure out what the Fed we’ll do next. I think the betting on Wall Street is there may be one more rate cut. I believe they meet either later this year or early next year.

I’m not so sure we need another rate cut. I think what’s what’s really going to change is the direction of h a fiscal policy. I’m very encouraged, as I think you are, about the Elon Musk and the Evekramaswami Doze Committee, which I think can cause confined and root out hundreds of billions of dollars of waste in the

way our government spends money. And by the way, even you know, some of my Democrat friends agree, let’s get rid of the waste, let’s get rid of the inefficiency as a way to bring down our debt. Don’t forget that Donald Trump will have a stack probably an inch and a half thick on his desk the day that

he enters office, which I guess it would be January twenty first, ready to go to repeal a lot of the crazy regulations. So all of these things are good for the economy, good for business, and good.

Speaker 1 For workers understood. What else you want to tell the American people on Sunday mornings.

Speaker 2 Well, the other thing I think is happening is you know that we’re sucking in capital. One of the reasons the stock market is doing well is it’s not just Americans, but it’s people all around the world want to invest in the US of because we’re the We’re the kind of alpha male economy out there. We’re the ones that

are going to get it right when Trump comes in. And I’m going to make a prediction to you and your listeners around the country, I think that you’re going to see this trump Ism really spread throughout the world.

You saw what happened to France this week where the voters have ousted their prime minister. You’re seeing this in Argentina with respect to what Javier Malay is doing in terms of cutting taxes. And I think this is people around the world are looking at what was happening in the United States and they’re saying, you know what we

want that here in our country, whether it’s in Europe or Asia or South America.

Speaker 1 Yes, any predictions for the markets.

Speaker 2 Look, I just like the American markets. I mean, it’s it’s they’ve risen a lot already, but my god, we’ve got we’re knocking on the door of Dow forty five thousand, you know, probably. I mean I wouldn’t be surprised if next year, believe it or not, something that you and I probably thought we’d never seen in our lifetime. Dow

fifty thousand.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I think you’re right. I think it could go up another ten percent.

Speaker 2 And remember, by the way, just in perspective, when Reagan took office, we had the Dow at a thousand. So think about that, folks, we’ve gone from Dow one thousand to Dow fifty thousand. I mean, is this a great country or what it’s a great country?

Speaker 1 Anything else you want to tell me American people?

Speaker 2 Well, I just hope that Trump gets his people in. I hope that the Democrats start to cooperate with Trump because a lot of the things are even Democrats want to see happen. So I think we’re seeing a coming together.

Donald Trump’s approval rating is now higher than it’s ever been since he first started running for office.

Speaker 1 You’re absolutely right people saying let’s give him a chance.

Speaker 2 Absolutely well, John, great to be with you. And next Saturday, I want everybody will want me more money, more money, money.

Speaker 1 You come on. Larry Cudlow is on from one from ten to one and you’re on from one to three. Five hours of talking about the economy on a Saturday. Thank you so much and God bless you and we’ll talk again real soon.

Speaker 2 Thank you. John,
