Speaker 1 What is today’s doctor Peter Michlos are in house genius, our friend, a historian and comments and all kinds of medical affairs to make us live long and prosper. Doctor Micheloso, what’s up to this Sunday morning? I mean, there’s so many things happening. What happened with Kate Middleton?

Speaker 2 Well, it turns out it looks like her medical records got breached, but you know, everyone can can speculate. But a lot of times people after they have pregnancies, they get you abdominal surgery, abdominal plastics, and it takes a long time to heal, and it takes, you know, weeks and weeks until you’re better. So we wish her all

the best, and we hope that they are medical records and medical issues stay private as they should. But when you’re a public figure, everyone wants to know everything about you. That’s why Hippolois came about. People are always trying to get into the medical records of celebrities to find out what’s going on with them. But hopefully she’ll heal well

and we’ll do a whole show on how to prepare for surgery, things to avoid, how to heal fast, or after surgery supplements you can take how you should be eating and diet. But today we’re going to talk about a really fascinating topic that you and I are both personally familiar with it and that’s about heavy metal toxicity

and heavy metal screening. And heavy metal screen checks don’t really happen often in current medical practice in the United States because if you have irregular levels of certain toxic or potentially harmful metals, it can affect how you feel how you’re doing. For example, you can have nervous issues, anxiety problems with heavy metal screening. You can have trouble sleeping,

you can have headaches, muscle pains, you can even have kidney damage and other issues like increased heart rate. And there are blood tests, and there is a urine test. Sometimes people can even analyze fingernails and hair, but the most common is the blood and the urine tests. And as we’ve talked about, the common ones that should be

checked our arsenic, admium, lead, mercury. Sometimes it can be from exposure in the air from your job. It can sometimes be from well water. As we both found out, mercury can be from fish, especially fish that live longer like swordfish and some types of fish that last a long time, but fish that like sardines don’t have that

much because they have a shorter life cycle, so they don’t absorb as much of these bad chemicals. And some of the symptoms are real, and some people can even get abdominal pain, chills, tangling, shortness of breath. And there are some metals like, for example, copper. There was a fascinating case of a young man who was having anxiety

disorder is cognitive and his hair was spinning, and he had been to many doctors, and I did send him to doctor Magdalena, the integrated medicine doctor, who did one hundred and fifty biomarks and she found he had low copper.

And it turns out that if you take a lot of zinc, zinc blocks the absorption of copper. And during COVID many people took a lot of zinc. The question is there is no really established how much zinc is too much zinc. And the problem is people tell people take zinc or take.

Speaker 3 Vitamine, eat something, but nobody ever tells you to actually check the levels with this young man then got some copper replacement, he started getting better and his hair started getting thicker. So it is fascinating some of the things that can happen. But when you have heavy metal toxicity, of course, the first thing is stop eating the source.

For example, if it’s well water.

Speaker 2 In your arsenic or if it’s the fish and your mercury like I’ve had personally. There are intravenous things called chelating agent. One of them is called EDTA and what’s that. It’s the chemical that actually binds the heavy metals, and then you pee it out, you urinate it out and then your levels up. I remember having a mercury of

forty and I got a letter from the state and then I had to go and I did two IV treatments and then the level came down to eleven. So there are treatments and there are actually pills i’d help bind heavy metals in our intestinal track as well. So this is something you should ask your doctor about if

you have some strange symptoms and you’re not sure, especially if you eat a lot of sushi, a lot of tuna. It’s something to think about in the differential diagnosis. When you have certain problems, even anxiety problems, headaches and other health issues, even kidney problems. Or headaches or muscle weakness, so something to be considered and reminding our audience to

think about heavy metal screening and also checking these levels and ask your doctor. And if your doctor doesn’t want to do it, you can actually go now to labs like Quest Labs, Lab Core and you can actually request them without a doctor and you just pay for them.

Go to the lab and they’ll send you the results and then you can bring them to your doctor if your insurance company won’t cover it.

Speaker 1 Understood. So if your hair starts to fall out during covert, everybody took a lot of zinc, it could be because or you’re taking too much sink any idea how much too much zinc is too much?

Speaker 2 Well, it depends on your body size, your weight, whether you’re male or whether you’re female. So there, you know, there there are you know, there are some guidelines, but you really have to talk to your doctor and you have to do it based on your on your weight, Yeah, and your side. That’s that’s really the best, uh, you know,

the best way to the best way to approach taking taking zinc because you can you can definitely well you know tend and.

Speaker 1 There’s a zinc test, so does zinc accumulating your body or does get flushed out?

Speaker 2 It does, it does, it does accumulate. You know, a lot of the vitamins usually have around ten milligrams that people say they take a day. But the problem is during COVID because people think zinc is anti viral, which it does have antiviral properties. It also has some properties that help the prostate associated with helping benign prostatic our purchasee,

which is shrinking the prostate. A lot of people were taking zinc but then they’re starting to show these copper defensions. These but nobody had a test for these things. So that’s why integrated medicine is so important, where they spend enough time to actually try to solve these problems and figure them out. But listening to WABC, people get to

learn about these things that you won’t hear anywhere else.

Speaker 1 Doctor Peter me hellos, thank you so much and let’s catch up again real soon.

Speaker 2 Thanks for always getting the truth out on the Cats Roundtable.
