Automated transcript · uncorrectedWell with us today is a congresswoman Nicole Meyo Taxis and a lot of things are happening in our city. A lot of people are shocked and they don’t know what to do. Nicole, What are you doing when your constituents call you and say what happened? What are we doing now?
Well, there’s obviously a lot of concern in Staten Island, in particular over Zoron being the nominee for the Democrats. It just shows you how far left John the party has gone on Staten Island. Governor Cuomo actually won. He won two boroughs, Staten Island and the Bronx, and these are I think more conservative boroughs. They’re at least the devil,
you know, right, So that’s why they voted for Andrew Cuomo. And now people are very concerned about what Mundani will do to the City of New York. This is somebody who claims that Bill Deblasio is the best mayor of the city has had. He’s lacks the experience. At thirty three years old, he’s only been a citizen the United
States for seven years, so he doesn’t know much about our city. And yet he’s going to run the largest city with the largest economy, and it’s really incredibly devastating, I think for law enforcement in particular. We remember seeing him fighting with state troopers in Albany as a state assembly member. He does not respect ICE. He wants to
abolish ICE and stop them from doing the work they’re doing to deport criminals and gang members and drug traffickers from our city. He is very radical. He is somebody who wants to take over supermarkets, he wants to take over apartment buildings. I mean, he is really has very radical views. And as somebody who’s the daughter of a
communist Cuba refugee and my mother left communist Cuba, just want to see New York City turned into a communist municipality. I mean, this is truly outrageous. Stuff that we’re seeing has been unprecedented, and it seems that New Yorkers from the Democrat radical left, they seem to be happy with the way things have gone, crime skyrocketing, and the affordability
increasing and the migrant crisis that has taken over our city because now they voted for somebody will not only do that, will do much worse. And so it’s it’s unfortunate for all of us in the city. And as somebody you know, I ran for mayor of the City of New York just as you did. We had obviously
very different views for the future of our city. So it is devastating, I think again for the Jewish community, because he is somebody who has espoused anti Semitic views. For law enforcement, because he has expoused anti police and public safety views, for capital, for the tax base, for Wall Street, because he has shown anti capitalism views. Everything
that New York City really stands for in terms of making it a safe, prosperous and an economic engine, it’s gonna be it’s gonna be really hard to keep all that.
You’re absolutely right that way. You know, Curtis is running and he’s trying you very hard. How was it when you ran? How did you feel did you feel that there was any point you were going to get? How many did you get? Thirty?
I forget, yeah, I got roughly around that percentage. It was what Teddy Roosevelt got when he ran for mayor. I remember that. But but what I would say is, you know, you show to see the difference in the media, right, The attention that a little known assemblyman Mamdani received for the media versus what I received as a little known
assembly woman. Media never covered my press conferences, they never covered my policy proposals, they never covered what my ideas were to make this city great. They only wanted to talk to me about what Donald Trump did that day in his first year in office, where this guy got so much attention, got so much free press and media
got his ideas written about. And it just shows you how skewed the media is and that they’ve played a role here. They have played a role in propping up this individual where he could, you know, be the next mayor and it would be disastrous, I think for everybody really, except for the criminals and the illegal immigrants and the
gang members. I want to continue to wreak havoc on our streets. I love the experience, John, and I’m sure I’m sure you did too. I love the experience of running for mayor of our city because I love our city.
It is an amazing city and it pains me to see what the city has gone through over the last few years under Democrat leadership. The one party rule in the city has to come to an end. This is our opportunity to do it. And if Governor Cuomo remains on the ballot, if Eric Adam remains on the ballot,
and if Madonnay’s going to be in the ballot. That’s three ways split could cause a Republican to get in to the race. So you know, there’s a lot of talk today about whether Republicans should vote for Curtis or for you know, the independent candidate Eric Adams. Look, I think we need to support the Republican. We know that
Eric Adams has been not so great for our city and the migrant crisis, and he helped create using our tax money was irresponsible. But we do need to sit together Democrats, Republicans, and independents of the common sense those of us who have common sense, and that’s Democrats, independents, and Republicans across the political spectrum. Because Democrats, I think
are very also disappointed with the results, and you could see that in the split of last night and the fact that they maybe felt they didn’t have anyone to support so they didn’t vote at all. I mean, I think there’s also a lot of apathy because they weren’t happy with any of the candidates. We need to come
together and reject Zorn.
And and really what I’ve always said, extremism in any direction is wrong, and right now we have extremism in the extreme left, the extreme socialism. And you know, in this like you said, he’s thirty two years old, he’s only been in the country for seven years. How are you going to make him may it? Yeah?
Yeah, I mean it’s honestly, it’s a real question that again, common sense individuals from across the political spectrum need to ask themselves what kind of future do they want for New York? Do they want to really shake things up?
Do they want to restore public safety, they want to address homelessness? Do they want to get our economy going? Look, Curtis Leewap again in a split ticket, he can win this race, and he’ll have smart people working with him.
You know, I’ll be happy to work with him to help address some of these issues, and others will as well, and we will get through this and I think really shake things up, which really at this point needs to be done at City Hall. Quite frankly, they really need to shake things up. It’s out of control.
