Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Mayor Eric Adams, well with us today, is taught Shapiro, spokesperson for the mayor, and taught Shapiro, give us your evaluation. You’re you’ve been around forever in politics, Uh tyl to give us your evaluation. What’s going on with the mayor’s race.

Speaker 2 So if you looked at Eric Adams like like an apple stock, you know, three days ago it was worth five dollars, today it’s worth five hundred dollars, you know, basically, you know, with with Zoean, you know, getting the nomination, Eric Adams, you know, not being in the Democratic primary, it really makes it a battle and a battle you know,

for a race that that no one in the city has ever seen before. Eric Adams. You know, phone the mayor’s phone has been ringing off the hook as far as in politics, from everything from from you know now for profits, the Union is, to two agencies, to people just you know wanting to you know, support the mayor

for another four years. And it’s a great, great feeling. You know, he’s gone through a lot and you know he’s done a great job. If you look at some of the things that he’s accomplished, I mean, crime has gone down, people coming back to the city. If you look at crime.

Speaker 1 Crime has gone down, not from any help from Walbany. Crime has come down because Washington send Tom Homan in to help Mayor Adams to clean out the criminals.

Speaker 2 There is no question that you know that having a mayor that works hand in hand with the federal government that’s not looking to make a political label out of the President of the United States trying to you know, trying to help the city of New York. Juststen the President of the United States is from you know, is

from New York City. He wants to see New York City do well. The mayor of Mayor of New York City once it’s see New York City do well. And they both, you know, they both you know, have similar visions.

They want to keep New York, New York City safe, They want to keep you know, bad people off the streets, and they want to make things, you know, a place where people’s families and children clip for a better quality of life, which we all strive from.

Speaker 1 Agreed with you. Anything else you want to say to Sunday Money, First.

Speaker 2 I want, you know, thank you John for you know, for putting these kind of shows together that you know, makes people aware and they could learn whether you’re be in lonality or in the city or anywhere in the States where you know, where w ABC comes out. I mean, I just want to say, you know, Mayor Adams has

a has a great vision people coming back to New York City. He is really he is, you know, as an independent, as an independent running He’s working with all people, Republican, Democrats and revative. He’s looking to basically, you know, go for another four years. He’s changed New York in a lot of ways that he’s come back. He’s you know,

he has a famous phrase, you know, he you know, people were in love in New York again. He took over during COVID. It was a tough, tough time for a lot of New Yorkers. A lot of you know, a lot of people came and they weren’t going out, they weren’t going to restaurants, they weren’t going out anywhere.

And the economy was effective and so it was you know, so was crime and so was everything else. So we’re seeing a whole new renaissance of of a comeback. And I really think that in the next four you know, next election cycle. Eric Adams is going to be a comeback kid. He’s going to be the guy that you

look at and he said, wow, look look what he’s done, and you know what, he’s done a lot and you look, he could probably go through a lot of accomplishments, you know, one by one and say, you know what, it’s it’s great you have somebody like like Eric Adams, like a man like that who cares about the city and wants

to do good for people. And you know, he was a former police officer. He’s a law in order candidate just like but he’s smart.

Speaker 1 Enough to know who’s going to help him keep the city clean and now keep it clean from criminals. Thank you so much, Todd Shapiro, and we’ll catch up again real soon.

Speaker 2 Thank you for the opportunity, John, and God bless you and your whole family. How a boy
