Speaker 1 Sunday morning. What is today is Congressman Peter King. I hate to say the word former because to me, he’s always Congressman Peter King. Well, Congressman King, Sunday morning, what’s on your mind?

Speaker 2 Well, first of all, trying is always going to be with you on Sunday and every day and also tomorrow night on Monday, I’ll be there with you. Also, what’s up my mind? You know, listen, I don’t agree with everything President Trump is done. I don’t agree with everything Elon Musk is done with. The factor is Donald Trump

is the best hope for the country right now. And his legislation, which he calls, you know, the big perfect Bill or big beautiful Bill, is big. It’s maybe not totally beautiful, but it’s better than anything else that’s out there.

And we live in the real world. I mean, this isn’t the bill of Donald Trump would have wanted ideally, or anybody would want ideally. But the only way you can get it through the Congress. And it does provide tax relief, it’s going to have small businesses, it’s going to secure the border, it’s going to rebuild the military.

And the alternative to that is having the Trump tax cuts expire and to make continue to make it tough for small businesses to prosper. It’s even going to build a small business, it’s going to So to me, what whatever is in the bill, to me, all it’s good is much better than what’s not as good. So I

think it’s wrong. ELI must we make Maybe it’s a personal thing now between him and the president, but don’t bring down the most important legislation that we have right now that can rebuild our economy, strengthen the economy, and continue to make us the most powerful nation in the world.

So I hope they can put this some of the personal feelings aside for the good of the country, and then when that’s starting, they can get back to having their fight.

Speaker 1 I understand. And people are saying that maybe Musk is upset that the EV subsidies are no longer. There is that possible.

Speaker 2 It is possible he may take it as a personal snub. Also, his very close friend was going to head NASA and uh Trump killed that during this week. He says it’s because he found out this person that contributed so much of Democrats over the years. But I think Donald Trump knew that all along. So I think that Trump felt

President Trump felt that Elon Musk was getting a little too big. He was out there and Trump wanted to cut him down. And our Musk is fighting back, and they’re going to probably bring up all sorts of personal self things that sound personal, which is really wrong. I mean, Elon Musk again, he’s an incredibly successful person. He did

get work for the government. He lost money by working for the government, But now he should not be trying to bring down the whole Trump administration. He’s telling people he’s going to support candidates to bring about a democratic House and a democratic Senate. I mean, this is madness.

This is like Biden off your knows who you know, spite your face, because if you bring the Democrats back in, anyone who’s in business today and trying you should know as well as anyone, is going to be hurt if we have democratic rule again in the Congress and in the White House at least for the last four years.

Is we had a Republican Senate in the and Wed Senate the last three years and a Republican House the last three years. But that’s really all that saved the country against Biden. If if they take it over, it’s going to be just two years of impeachment. It’s all over.

The Democrats seg over the House of Senate. Two years of impeachment, hearings, investigations, and Trump’s hands will be tied with hurts. The American people understood, we know that.

Speaker 1 And I spoke to a few US Senators in the last few days and and everybody agrees. It’s nothing’s perfect, but we’re better off getting it done and signing getting the bill done than not getting it done.

Speaker 2 Yeah, it was. The reality is we have like a two or three vote majority in the House of Representatives, and at least one of those votes, Tom Massif from Kentucky, He’s never going to vote for the bill. So basically it’s like a two vote margin. And if you start pulling this bill apart to pass the House, that that’s

going to be it under the two hunred and eighteen that we need, and we’re going to end up not having any legislation role. And the Trump tax got to here to expire. Everyone’s taxes are going to go up, and small business is going to suffer. The military is not going to get the new funding of the needs,

the border is not going to have all of the border patrol of security, people ice people that are going to be able to strengthen the border. So this is it’s a disaster, and I know moste is mad. Well, that’s listen. It’s a big country and not everyone gets to all they want. He’s got his, certainly his twenty

four hours of publicity, and he’s going to recover. Don’t bring the country down in the meantime.

Speaker 1 Uh, what more, you’ve been in Nashall County for how long? Forever?

Speaker 2 I’ve been living in the same house for fifty four years? You actually now three years before that important fifty seven years.

Speaker 1 They want to put those dumb windmills off the beach in Nasau County.

Speaker 2 Yeah, we have to fight that.

Speaker 1 That is ridiculous. Was a Peter king those windmills. All they do is he’s gonna kill kill birds, kill the whales, and destroyed the fisheries they’re fishing, you know, the whole fishing industry in Long Island, I mean. And the amount of electricity they make is nominal. And you know what they’re gonna do eventually, the people of Nassau County, in

Suffolk County, they’re gonna pay double and triple for the electricity.

Speaker 2 You know, this is the type of madness, remember when they try to do this up. But I guess it was. I had a support a few years ago, and all the great liberals there opposing.

Speaker 1 Jaddy Kennedy put his foot down. He says, no windmills in Massachusetts.

Speaker 2 And they were all those you know, green liberals up there. They loved the climb, the climate, they loved clean air, all this stuff. And then as soon as he came to their backyard they fought back, and they again he ran put their foot down, the ails, put down the foot down on the throat of the government that wanted

to bring it in. Also one other thing, we have the mayor’s race coming up, and my real concern is having that left wing socialist somehow emerging in the Democratic primary. Whether or not you’re a lover of Andrew Cuomo did a great and did a poor job as governor, didn’t do a good job as governor, the fact is he

would be much better than the alternatives. I think Curtis is a great choice in November, but let’s not run the risk by electing that socialist. I mean Eric Adams or Curtis Leewa would be far better than anybody else in that field except for Cuomo. It was Cuomo, Adams and Sleewa. We’ll have a solid, good three band race,

which I think will be good for the entire city.

Speaker 1 Peter King, Congressman Peter King, Washington, misses you, misses your common sense. Thank you for coming on this Sunday morning, and let’s make sure we don’t get those windmills and to kill the waters off of Long Island.

Speaker 2 Absolutely, Giann, that’s a fight we’re going to be in together. So thank you, thank you,
