Well, we have a former Brigadier General John Well nicknamed Dragon Tiger, So I’m going to call you a dragon, John, and he was an assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the f Force for International Affairs, and he was a member of Space Force. Well, Dragon, what the heck is going on?
Give us your evaluation, John.
It has been such a spicy week and I think really was started by that bold, creative and audacious attack by Ukraine against Russia. And here’s the thing that blows me away about what happened last weekend is that for fifty thousand dollars, that’s all it cost Ukraine fifty thousand dollars, they did seven billion dollars worth of damage against five
bases as far away as eastern Russia. And that really just transformed the public’s mind about what’s going on. And I think it’s a great reminder to us in America that you don’t need to spend the most, You don’t need to be the biggest or the baddest. You need to be creative and hungry and you can do what
Ukraine did against Russia. And I think now the world is paying attention again to the fact that Ukraine has been so savvy for the last three and a half years that they were able to pull something like that on Putin and he didn’t know what hit him.
That is, there’s a secret plan among the generals against Putin. That’s what I hear from my intelligence uses John.
I think that anytime Russia gets hit hard, you go back to when the Wagner group was scheming against Putin that anytime there’s dissatisfaction, then those generals in Russia that are marginally loyal to Putin start raising concerns that Putin is bankrupting their country and bringing shame Torussia. And at some point the public and those generals are going to
do something about it, and Putin will be in the receiving end of some of their anger and disappointments.
I agree with you in that. So there’s turmoil in Russia. Zolensky is buying new apartments and new homes, I understand. So I don’t know where the money and I don’t know where the money is going in the Ukraine. Zelenski is trying to lure NATO countries into the war because.
It’s just one big mess.
It is one big mess, and I’ll tell you. I know President Trump is trying to get to a ceasefire, but the only way you get to a ceasefire or the end of the war is convincing Zelenski and Putin that is in their best interest to negotiate right now.
I actually think Zolensky is negotiating in good face, and Putin is just stringing President Trump along. And I think at some point President Trump’s going to get sick of it, and then and only then, that the United States starts talking tough against Putin and he realizes he better back down vote for his own internal way forward in Russia,
as well as the ability to operate on the world stage.
And I’ve said this publicly before. And so the mistake made with Zelenski was President Trump said to him that after we have peace, we want elections in the Ukraine. Well, guess what. I don’t think Zolensky wants elections. He wants to be emperor for life.
Well I think he does, and obviously Putin is emperor for life or until those generals dispose him. I do think there’s a lesson for America in all of this, and that is it is we start thinking about how do we construct the Golden Dome that we need to be aware not just of high end threats like holistic
missiles and cruise missiles, but those fifty thousand dollars small drones can do a lot of damage. And when I was the commander of Joint bas Andrews, the President’s Airfield outside of Washington, d C. And when I was the commander of Edward Air Force Base, my biggest concern is that some nut job or some terrorists would go to
Best Buy, buy one thousand dollars quad copter, strap a grenade onto it and fly over Air Force one and destroy it, or fly over a YouTube or B twenty one bomber and destroy it. We need to think about Golden Dome not just about high end threats, but how do we protect our bases in our population centers against
some of these low in threats as well? Because Ukraine proved that you can do a lot of damage with not much money and not much.
Nohow, what is your estimate the amount of damage je Zelenski did to the Russian fleet?
Yeah, they say that it’s something between twelve bombers and forty one bombers. Either way, those are huge numbers, and the fact that Russia doesn’t have an industry that is making new classical bomber aircraft means that they can’t be replaced.
And when you lose bombers, it means you lose power projection capability and you lose the ability to strike at long range. And the fact that it’s somewhere between twelve and forty one bombers that are either destroyed or damaged means that it is a significant portion of the Russian fleet that now they don’t have and will never be
able to build back.
Understood now Iran.
Iran is starting to buy key military equipment from China. That’s what I hear in my ex sources.
It is true, and they actually have been a consumer of both Russian and Chinese equipment for a while. But here’s the thing that we need to understand, and I hope the President is thinking this way, is that we have a limited window of opportunity to either convince Iran that they must give up their nuclear ambitions or strike them.
You know, right now they are extremely vulnerable. Their air defenses were decimated by Israel several months ago and right now they are sitting ducks. And if we don’t negotiate from a position of strength and force Iran to give up their nuclear ambitions. Then we must be prepared alongside it Israel to strike those those Iraian nuclear assets. Otherwise
those Chinese air defense systems are going to be poised to make it a lot more difficult than it is right now.
Understood, what else would you like to tell We got another minute or so left to the American people on Sunday.
Morning, John, Maybe just a really quick one about NASA. You know, there’s talk about who the next administrator is going to be or how much money we spend on NASA. We keep learning the same lesson, which is, we relied on Russian rockets and they failed us. We relied on Boeing and they failed us. Now we’re relying on Elon
Musk and we don’t know if SpaceX is going to deliver. We need to make sure that we have a government controlled space and aeronautics system that can benefit the American people, so that we’re not just reliant on one entity or one person. We keep learning the same wrong lesson or not learning the lesson, and we need to make sure
that NASA is poised with confident leadership and a president that demands that they provide for the American people so that our aerospace needs are met in the civilian sex.
General Taker, thank you for what you’ve done for America. Continue to speak out for America, and well we all work forward to keep American safe. Thank you so much. And God bless you. God bless America, and let’s hope for peace.
John, I love being on with you. God bless America. Let’s keep talking out and speaking truth to the American people.
