Jose Santamaria

Jose Santamaria, a Spanish-born investor, briefs John Catsimatidis on the mass crossings into the Spanish city of Ceuta, which the European Parliament has condemned over the objections of Spain’s Socialist government. He argues the government is using immigration and nationalizations for electoral gain, describes Europe’s turn to the right on security, and warns about Chinese involvement in Spain’s telecom networks.

Key takeaways

  • Santamaria said about 10,000 people stayed in Ceuta and another crossing was called for Sept. 23.
  • He said about 2 million nationalizations are moving quickly and claimed they are meant to secure votes.
  • He said about half of European police arrests involve illegal migrants, not that half of them commit crimes.
  • He said data from Venezuela after Maduro’s removal links Spanish Socialist figures to crimes.
  • Santamaria said China runs much of Spain’s 5G telecom network, which he called a security threat.

Speaker 1 Well, what is going on in Europe? With us today is Jose Santamaria, a good friend of mine, born in Spain, did a lot of business in Spain, did a lot of business in the United States, South America. Well, Jose Santamaria, give us an update. What the heck is going on in Europe and a lot of complications in Spain, which

causes other complications? Fill in the American people.

Speaker 2 Absolutely, John. So first of all, the European Parliament has condemned the massive regular crossings into Ceuta, the city of Ceuta, which is a Spanish city, against the vote of the Socialist Party in Spain and the Prime Minister, which did not want to condemn the invasion. That’s a big development because now you have European governments very upset with the

Spanish government because they did not handle this invasion properly.

Speaker 1 And tell us about it. Is the invasion continuing or what is it going on?

Speaker 2 Well, there’s been about 10,000 people that have stayed in the city of Ceuta. The concern right now is that social networks have called for another invasion on the 23rd of September. So the government obviously is very concerned that there’s another invasion. plantization in those cities in the northern part of Africa.

Speaker 1 Understood. And are they there in Spain to stay or are they being forced out? What is going on there?

Speaker 2 Well, remember the Spanish socialist government has the support of minorities, mostly radical left minorities like in Catalonia and the Basque Country. And she’s also played the part of trying to secure the election results next year by having massive amounts of immigrants move into Spain and vote for him. The number is about 2 million nationalizations that are going really fast.

So I think this is clearly a plan to have more migrants coming to the country and vote for him. Without those votes, he will not win the elections because by now he’s lost the support of a lot of party members, including his own party. And a lot of the politicians that used to be with him are no

longer with him. I think, John.

Speaker 1 Let me interrupt you for one second. That sounds similar to what happened during President Biden’s administration with the Democratic Party with all the migrants invaders coming in.

Speaker 2 You are 100% right. And remember, the Spanish Socialist Party has taken advantage of Venezuelan money. The previous prime minister is indicted for a number of crimes, including the trading of oil from Venezuela, gold from Venezuela. And the Spanish Socialist Party has funded the international socialists. They also fund the Global Progress Foundation, which is here in the U.S.,

and they plan to come next week to the United Nations. Mamdani is going to be there with them. And I think that what you see in Spain, it’s basically what has happened with the Biden administration, exactly in the same way.

Speaker 1 And tell us all these repercussions. You know, like my physics professor used to say in college, in high school or in college, it is intuitively obvious that the Europeans are realizing they have been invaded. What are they doing?

I mean, we know what the UK did. They pushed a button on Brexit because they wanted to stop the invasion. What is Germany doing? What is France doing? What is Italy doing? Give us the pulse of the situation.

Speaker 2 So there’s a substantial amount of migrants in Europe. They come from different regions. Some are from Africa, some are from Eastern Europe, a lot of Chinese as well. I think that what you’re seeing basically is a turn to the right. You saw in Germany the election results recently where the right has taken a lot of votes from

the left. People at the street level are very concerned with security. Security is a real issue. To give you an idea, you look at the statistics. About 50% of police arrests currently in most European countries are illegal migrants.

And that is... growing rapidly. It doesn’t mean that half of them commit crimes, but it does mean that half of the rest are migrants. That’s a big concern. Now, what has changed mostly, John, is the fact that when Maduro was extracted from Venezuela, the amount of data to find about the crimes committed by some of these people

has exploded. Alex Saab, recently, Maduro’s money man, had pled guilty in the U.S. for money laundering, the connections into the socialist party in Spain, particularly the previous prime minister, Zapatero, are very, very direct. So there’s a lot that’s going to be disclosed in the coming weeks because the amount of data collected is massive about these networks and these crimes.

Speaker 1 Well, I look forward to see what the Germans are going to do to protect, to keep Germany, Germany, and what the French are going to do to keep France, France. And I’ve already warned the Greeks they better keep Greece, Greek.

And I look forward to seeing what happens. What else would you like to tell the American people?

Speaker 2 I am looking as well at the fact that China is involved in the Spanish economy significantly. China actually runs a lot of the telecom networks in Spain, the 5G, and that’s something that is a concern. construction, Chinese construction company recently opened a branch in the city of Barcelona.

I think, as you know, Huawei is way too present, and I think Europeans are realizing that this is a major security threat So there’s a number of things that Europeans need to correct immediately. And what I would say is we know about this because of the work done by President Trump and by Marco Rubio when they actually

allowed for a number of laws to take place and fight cybersecurity. Otherwise, we wouldn’t know. We would be completely blind about what’s going on with these networks.

Speaker 1 Understood. Well... Jose Santamaria, thank you for an update on Europe, and let’s catch up again real soon.

Speaker 2 My pleasure, John.
