Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning. What’s going on in the country. Well, today we have one of the most influential senators in our country, Center Rick Scott, one s Moret guy. He was eight eight years two terms as governor of the great State of Florida. Now he’s the US Senator and Centata Scott.
I mean there’s a lot of confusion in our country about if we don’t pass this bill, we’re not going to be We’re going to be up craps Creek. Is that the nicest way I could say, you know what, do the FCC approving?
Well, John, I think we’ve got to get a bill done. I can completely supported, one hundred percent focused on getting the president’s agenda done. And there’s a lot of good things in this bill. We made permanently the Trump tax cuts from twenty seventeen, which is which saves the American public for trillion dollars. We have money to chewing secure
the border, we have money for a military. There’s a lot of good things as this bill. But what we have to also do is we have to bring some more fiscal sanity to the table here. We to trallion dollars a year. Right now, we have well in the next probably we’ll hit thirty seven trade dollars with a debt.
That means we’re and we’re running over a trillion dollars a year of interest expense. If we leave it just the way it is, we’re going to be close to sixty trillion dollars with a debt in ten years. There will never be able to pay for us to pay for anything else. With care about it, there’s ways to
save money. Elon Musk and Dose has shown us there’s a lot of ways to save money. So what we’ve got to do is we’ve got to go line by line through the budget and do everything we can to save money. So I’m committed to get into this bill done.
I believe every republic and I know wants to get this bill done, but we also will want to create some fiscal sanity. So I’m optimistic that we can balance the budget, get this bill done, and create a lot of prosperity for every American Senator.
I agree with you one hundred and ten percent. Uh. You know, Congress says they have one big, beautiful be up bill, but I guess they were too close and they wanted to get it passed. But it’s time to reconcile and come up with some more common sense because we can’t afford to have forty trillion or fifty trillion
in debt.
Now think John, We’ve had a fifty three percent incret and spend years. Unfortunately the House bill and then look, the House worked their tail off. Unfortunately, the House bill cuts suspending over the next ten years by something like one point seven percent. So there’s a lot more we have to do. I believe we’re going to get it done.
I’m going to work with my Senate colleagues, some with my House colleagues, and work with the President to make sure we get this bill passed with way more fiscal sanity.
Senator, you were the governor of Florida for eight years. Florida has come a long way, a long way, uh and and and you still are responsible for the great state of Florida. How is Florida doing?
We’re doing great. This week, you know, I was, I traveled the state getting people ready for a hurricane season. But we’re ready. We’re a state that is very resilient. We have beautiful beaches which which we have the bend for the beaches, and they need a baby swat and we did some storms, but we’re getting ready for that.
We are continuing the grower state jobs. I mean, think what we’re number one higher education right now, we’re probably top five and K twelve education where we’re fifty year low in our in our crime rate. So the things that people care about, jobs, we got a great job market.
People people want to live in Florida. It’s a great it’s a great place to live and raise your family and do it in a safe manner. And we have I mean, I love being because I love our beaches, I love the sun we have, so it’s it’s a it’s a great place to be.
Well center. Rick Scott, thank you for everything you’ve done for our country. Thank you. I mean you were in the Navy and you’re a great businessman. Uh and thank you for standing up for the great state of Florida.
And thank you
