Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning. Well, calling in from Texas, we have a Congressman Brendan Gill. You are one of the youngest people in Congress, formerly a business person, but he’s trying to help on what’s going on in Washington. Well, Congressman Gil, we’re on the brink of the best economy the United States has ever had, or we’re on the brink of
disaster if we can’t get a deal done. Tell us what do you think is going on with the Senate and the Congress, and we’re going to be able to broke a deal.
John, thanks for having me on. First of all, it’s always always good to join you. You know, I think that there is despite any perceived disagreements or on policy or on strategy, I think that there’s a widespread agreement amongst every Republican if this is a bill that we do need to get done, that tax cuts are a
huge part of getting our economy up and rolling again. After Joe Biden, that that’s something that will be good for us politically, that that’s something that the people elected us to do and that they want to see as soon as possible. We’ve got a deadline right now, that leadership is set and the President has talked about getting
this bill signed into law by July fourth. As you know, we’ve passed the one big, beautiful bill out of the House last week, and there was a long negotiation process of what some of the details looked like, particularly around spending cuts and rolling back the Green New Deal and some things like that. But we got the bill done.
Now it’s in the Senate’s hands. We’re hearing a little bit of you know, voice is saying that maybe we need to have more spending cuts, which I certainly agree with. I think that we should. But I do think that this is just part of the negotiation process. Different people want to weigh in, they want to give their opinion
and hopefully make this bill a lot better. And I think increasing the number in the magnitude of spending cuts to the big part of that. But at the end of the day, we’re going to get this thing done.
We’re going to get tax cuts delivered for the American people, just like they elected us to do.
Well. That’s very important because we’ve got the greatest country in the world, and the free world is expecting us to keep the free world free. I got another question, and you’re a young guy so you maybe you’ve never seen some of these things going on, and I’ve never seen them going on. It seems like the Democratic Party
has energized their federal judges to what should I call it a tax from a presidency, and it doesn’t seem like the Supreme Court is very fast to act on it. What is Congress’s opinion? What is your opinion? You have a lot of friends that you taught to every day in Congress. Why is this going on in America? I
mean they’re working to destroy Trump and make to make sure in twenty twenty six it goes their way.
That’s exactly right. You know, the Democrats are in an interesting position right now where they have no leadership, They have no message at all. All they can fall back on is we hate Donald Trump. No matter what he does.
President Trump could create world peace. He could end the war in Ukraine, he could end the sort of Cold war that’s beginning with China, he could end global conflict across the globe, and they would still hate him for it, and they would still do everything they can to thwart his agenda. And they’ve got no message right now because
their message politically historically in the past year or so has been. While we want boys and girls’ sports, we want open borders, and we want more taxes, none of those things our political messages that the America people want, I mean, that are wildly unpopular ideas, and they’ve gone further and further to the left. But what I think
we’ve seen is them weaponize the court at all levels, particularly at lower court district court levels, to go way beyond their constitutional prerogative and start acting as commander in chief in their own right. I mean, we’ve got federal judges demanding the president turn planes full of Trende Iragua terrorists around mid air and bring them back into the
United States. We’ve got judges thwarting his tariff agenda, which is something that President Trump ran on. But I think that Democrats know that, or they’re making the bet that, you know, they don’t have a message and all they can do is do their worst to stop the president, no matter how good of policies the President is implementing
for the American people. I do think it’s disgusting, But this is something that’s been a long time running. You know, for years and years, the left has reinterpreted, magically reinterpreted the Constitution to mean whatever they want it to mean in the moment, and we’re seeing the fruits of that right now.
I mean, they tried to kill the president, and we still don’t have a full report of who’s responsible for trying to kill the president. We have problems and under interpreting who is really responsible for j six January sixth and the presidency. They tried to indict them into a different states. We have to bring you off country together.
We’ve got to bring the country together, and we’ve got to show that it is wrong what the Democrats are doing here. They have weaponized every single lever of government against President Trump, what like to your point, whether it’s the the FBI and the CIA, the Justice Department, the federal court system, all of these levers that should be
non political, entirely non political, they’ve weaponized against both President Trump and by extension, the American people. And we’re calling them out for this. But I think that we need to be much more aggressive in pushing back against this.
I mean, whenever we have courts, district court judges, lower court judges, particularly out of DC often who have taken it upon themselves to dictate our foreign policy, to take to usurp the powers of the commander in chief who was duly elected by the American people for specific jobs, to secure the border, to deport a legal aliens, to
cut taxes, to do all of these great things that make life in America better for our people. Whenever they’re you Saunders power. That’s a real problem, congressmens who are at a time I’d like to continue to say, discussion again with you in the near future. And thank you for coming on this Sunday morning and speaking to the
American people. John, thanks for having me
