Speaker 1 New Jersey. There’s a big governors race and there’s a primary a little about ten days from now, and one of the leading candidates is Jack Ciarelli, and he’s with us this Sunday morning, and Jack, what the heck is going on? There’s so many things happening in New Jersey.

You give us an update.

Speaker 2 There is a lot going on, John, As you mentioned, the primary is now only ten days away. Early voting starts this week. We have six days of early voting, and we’re in a very commanding position. But well, we’ll be sprinting through the finish line. I’m honored to have the president’s endorsement. He knows I’m the only guy that

can win in November, and he knows that I’m gonna support him and making New Jersey safe again. So you know, we’re not gonna have centurary cities, we’re not gonna be a century state, and we’re gonna stop handcuffing. John. I’m sure you saw what happened on our Jersey shore this past Memorial Day weekend. Last week.

Speaker 1 I heard it was a rough weekend.

Speaker 2 It was a really well rough weekend. They were over one hundred arrests, twenty of which were people under the age of eighteen miners. The others were all in the late teens eighteen, nineteen, twenty twenty one free stabbings. And we’re not gonna have flash mobs in our Jersey Shore, John, when I’m governor, We’re gonna give the local police all

the tools they need to not allow this kind of thing to happen. And we’re gonna deal with juveniles who are engaging in chaos and civil unrest in an appropriate way. Right now, Phil Murphy’s made it very to just be released.

They only come back the next weekend and commit the same kind of chaos.

Speaker 1 Now, I mean, I could understand seventeen year olds, eighteen year olds, sixteen year olds getting drunk, you know, it happens. But when they start using guns, and when they start using knives, they you should put them away forever, just enough that they’re never gonna we get there.

Speaker 2 They’re open away, they’re John. They should be charged as adults. They know exactly what they’re doing, but they also know that they can’t be arrested. And the other thing that’s terrible is when the cops bring them down to the station, they can’t even be put in confinement. The cop has to sit there with these juveniles until their parents arrive,

and that means that the cop is tied up off the streets, sitting there with fifteen and sixteen year olds, seventeen olds until their parents show up. We need to get those cops back out on the beat. I think that they should be allowed to be confined. Quite frankly, those are just some of the changes we’ll make when

I’m governor.

Speaker 1 Absolutely tell us what else concerns you. I understand that the windmills may be back.

Speaker 2 Well, we know that there’s a wind farm coming off of Long Island, but is where we sit today, John that the President has still put a halt on wind farms off our Jersey shore, and we’re grateful for that.

I’ll certainly make it permanent when I’m governor. We’ll start burning natural gas, which is a very rational, appropriate bridge to the future, so we can produce more electricity. We’re starving for electricity here in New Jersey because Phil Murphy bet it all on wind, and we know that all came crashing down and now we’ve got a shortage, and

so people are about to see a twenty percent increase in their monthly bills. And I’ll also tell you, John, big business is not coming to New Jersey because there’s not enough juice. So are we not going to grow our economy in a very responsible way? Natural gas is a way to produce more electricity. I will lift the

moratorium on burning natural gas to general electricity. I’ll bring on three or four new natural gas fired plants, and we’ll expand our nuclear footprint in South Jersey with a fourth reactor.

Speaker 1 Understood. I mean the President has approved that. You know, nuclear energy is a green energy now, and they’re starting to use what they call SMIs small modular reactors, which is the same nuclear reactors that have been running our submarines for sixty years safely.

Speaker 2 That’s correct, John, It’s clean energy, and the environmentalists should have no issue with that whatsoever. Forty percent of our electricity in New Jersey comes from three nuclear reactors in South Jersey. The footprint for five more I have already been approved, so I don’t have to go through the regulatory process with the federal government that takes two years

off the timeline. I’ll put a shovel of ground in year one of my administration. Within six years, we’ll have a fourth nuclear reactor up and running, and again we’ll produce more electricity at a less expensive rate for New Jerseyans.

Speaker 1 Thank you. Anything else you want to tell your future constituents.

Speaker 2 Hey, get out there and vote. We’ve got six days of early voting this week, and then, of course primary is June tenth itself. But I look forward to representing the Republican Party and delivering a victory for New Jersey come November.

Speaker 1 John, Well, thank you, Jackson Torelli, God bless you, and I look forward to spending time in Jersey when it’s a even a safer state. Thank you so much, Thank you, John
