Speaker 1 What is today is Dick Morris one of the sharpest strategic politicians. I know, we’re not politicians, an advisor to the politicians, an advisor to to Bill Clinton, an advisor to Donald Trump. Well, Dick Morris, that was an interesting, Uh the State of the Union speech the other day, tell us what do you think about it?

Speaker 2 Well, it was a partisan diatribe and iran not a speech, and self indulgent at that. I guess what Biden should have done is to be the president of the United States, the unifier of the country, and paint division of America’s future. Instead, he chose to be self indulgent and grant and grave against his political opponents. If anything, he was done Trump

at his worst and uh not Joe Biden at his best. And it was a serious mistake. I think the reason Biden made the mistake is that in his mind, he’s still really trying to win the slot as the Democratic nominee.

This time he has all the delegates own up, but he still needs to prove that he can run and that he’s strong enough to serve. And in that sense, the speech was a bit of an audition for him, and I think he treated it that way, and he wanted to show that he had vigor and had them

and was full of aggressiveness and combatantness and that he could hold his own and in the course of satisfying those criterion, he basically blew the opportunity of the State of the Union speech, which is to appear presidential and to rise above everything and become a unifying voice for the country. And he was so focused on proving his

virility in a sense that he missed the opportunity to prove his political viability.

Speaker 1 I understand. The other thing that people commented on is, you know, during regular days, he’s stumbling, he’s not you know, accurated what he’s saying. Uh, And he seemed pretty sharp for most of the speech yesterday. Do you think I mean, was he drugged up? I mean nothing else.

Speaker 2 I mean, I’m just after sure, he’s on meds, of course, and they juice him up to these speeches, and they have enough to last an hour. So he was okay when he’s at liber just by himself, he’s he’s not nearly that articulate with that energetic but but it backfired because he was so energetic and so aggressive and so

bigorous that he ended up talking himself out of the out of presidentiality, which is the key thing a president has to add.

Speaker 1 Now it if they can get medicine to work that well, maybe they didn’t get it for twenty four hours or a week, then they’ll make.

Speaker 3 Progress at least uh four years. Yeah, what else like four years you’re on today from twelve to two.

Speaker 2 Uh, something very important to talk about. Normally, when you are running against an incumbent, are in any election, you get votes by nibbling at his unfavorables, his soft favorables, the people that don’t know much about him, and you make your case to them, and you pick them off one a time, and you build a strong candidacy. That

is not what Donald Trump has done to Joe Biden. What he’s done is to take gigantic bites out of vote Biden, out of Biden’s base, out of the core voters that make up Biden’s and the Democratic Parties base, among Hispanics, among blacks, and particularly among under thirty year old voters, and those bites and those that are souls

really on the base of the Democratic Party is transforming American politics, not just in the selection but in perpetuity because it’s completely taking the base of the Democratic Party and turning it against them, and Trump has done a great job of doing that. And I think that the polling reflects that if Biden had simply lost some disaft

support for some of the people who really were uncommitted, that wouldn’t be much of a problem. But the fact that his drop has come absolutely out of his base, out of his core vote, out of the core vote the party has depended on the decades, it becomes a much more serious mattern and much more lasting punishment for

the Democratic Party.

Speaker 1 Understood. So that will be a discussion at twelve to two o’clock on w Radio dot com and on your iPhone app or your Android, And like we said, available in one hundred and seventy three countries and fifty states. Yeah, thank you, Jack Morris, and so I’ll bless you and let’s save America.
