Speaker 1 Sunday morning. What this is doctor Peter Milos and we nicknamed them and he lived long and prosper and if we follow what he says, maybe we’ll live a little along it. Peter Mihelosa, what do you have in mind for this Sunday morning?

Speaker 2 Well, this Sunday morning, it’s a very hot topic because we hear all about the legalization of marijuana and the widespread use, and everyone tries to say how benign it is. But as we’ve talked about on WABC, after some of those Duke University studies that showed that there was some genetic damage that occurs in cannabis smokers, a startling new

study came out of Australia that basically lends cannabis used to this genetic damage and even cancer. But not only that, when it did the damage or changes to the DNA, it did it to the babies in the womb, and it did it generationally that they pass on the defect created by the cannabis. And that’s a really big relevant,

you know, revelation, and I think it’s going to have to be presented. I think people are going to be have to testify before Congress to really talk about protecting children especially, and now even if you’re in the in the street of New York. I was recently came into the city and was walking outside to go to an

event and the smell of Memphis was reaking in the street. I felt, you know, somebody who’s never smoked of even a cigarette. It was like very traumatic to have to be exposed. And it’s involuntary that you have to.

Speaker 1 It’s involuntary. And when I walk out of our office on Third Avenue, by the time I get to the car, I can get high.

Speaker 2 No, I know, and I mean this is serious. The Journal of Addiction Biologies of major journal, and they identified, you know, cannabis as a genotoxic substance, meaning that it harms the genetic material in ourselves. And when you have these DNA mutations, you also accelerate aging. That’s why when you see some of these potheads, they look older, their

skin is more wrinkled, you know, and it’s also accelerated cognitive decline. So but the scariest thing is that can be passed on to future generations through wagg and sperm, making the effect you know, transgenerational. And that’s something new and something that people really have to think about now with people operating motor vehicles. And I know there are

companies right here in the New York area and on Long Island working on a test that will scan with a puff up the breath be able to measure levels of THHC and that’s going to be a big thing.

And also a breathalyzer test that we’ll be able to pick up fentanyl and other substances. And there’s even a breathalyzer test that’s being developed that they claim that they can also diagnose cancers like cancer, and even a breast cancer and stepsis infection of the blood through the chemicals that come out of someone’s breast. So this is the

frontier of medicine. And then another she got the.

Speaker 1 Peter scratched my head because all the millions of people that made tobacco the taboo are the ones saying, oh, marijuana is okay for you, and they make us inhaled the marijuana.

Speaker 2 Yeah, no, it’s not a good thing. And also it’s smoking. We now know that it increases the risk of macular degeneration, maybe up to fourfold, And that’s why you meet a lot of people at vacular degeneration and they say I never smoke, Will you married to one? They go, yeah, because the person smoking it is stucking it up through

a filter cigarette, but the person in the room is getting the raw smoke off the tip. And also the paper that they wrap these cigarettes. How do you think you make paper white? They use formaldehyde, which is a known carcinogen, and that’s also being burned and you’re inhaling that.

So there’s a lot of things. We need to pay more attention to our health because it’s not a good thing that the lifespan of an American mail is now seventy four point two years. That’s ridiculous, and places like in Europe, like you know, Greece they’re in their eighties and Portugal they’re eighty two, and Japan eighty four, and

you know, we have to I think that you know when we’re going to have some changes, I think in the school diets and going after some of the processed foods and trying to make things safer and hopefully getting a better healthcare system. And that’s the other thing I wanted to quickly wrap up. And I think one of

the things that happens people forget with a lot of these affordable so called affordable healthcare plans. The deductibles are five and ten thousand dollars. The number one cause of bankruptcy in the United States is medical because all these young people are getting hit with these big deductibles and they can’t pay it. So what And also when kids

turn twenty six, then they’re off their parents’ plan. So I propose that one of the plans would be something called faircare, where you take the existing Medicare system which only costs three percent to administer, and allow people to buy into it who are younger and healthier when they come off the insurance and they pay five hundred a

month instead of one thousand a month, and that would cover it and also bolster the effects for the older population because it would spread the risk. And you also turn Medicare and call it faircare into a five oh one C three So if someone wants to make the donation, and someone wants to write a check for a million

dollars to a good cause, it could be towards this faircare and make it a hybrid and also risk adjustment. If you’re a smoker, you pay twenty percent more, and then you can also start raising the rates because right now a doctor for a focused follow physic it’s twenty three dollars. They can’t maintain offices like that, and it’s

destroying the small private mom and pop practitioners that we’ve all grown up with. And you’ve got this McDonald’s factory type medicine. So I think having this type of program like fair care, and also when people lose their jobs or people older in the fifty five to sixty five that zone where sometimes people lose their jobs until they

get another job, that they can buy into this program. So it’s not just a government handout. You actually have to pay into it like a regular insurance, but it costs less to administer and it would be a really good safety gap for these younger people. And also they wouldn’t get punished with the large deductibles.

Speaker 1 Doctor Peter. I mean bottom line is how far away are we from a test from having truck drivers driving seventy miles an hour. It’s smoking marijuana that can cause problems.

Speaker 2 Well, I think we’re very close to it. And there’s a machine that can analyze the breath through something on chromatography and it can actually measure to h The problem is the machine is like one hundred pounds and it’s a giant machine. There’s no portable unit. But there are people currently working with some technology that’s through the University

of Michigan. A lot of it was developed there, And there is some technology that’s around the corner. And I think it’s going to be here sooner than later, and God knows, we really need it. And because we’re seeing that people driving down the roads wobbling and waving, they may not have alcohol on their breasts, but they definitely

are smoking marijuana. Sometimes they roll the windows down at a red light and it reeks so bad you can smell it in the next car. And also the new marijuanas are more potent and more toxic and have more THHC.

And they also mix it now with other drugs. So this is something that society has to address. We’re dumbing down society and we already definitely.

Speaker 1 Making you have a dumber society. Bye bye you smoking that stuff. I mean, look, I mean there’s millions of people say, oh man, that’s going to be cool. You know, you don’t want to be cool. I mean exactly.

Speaker 2 It’s the dumping down of America absolutely. And another thing to top it all off, the study just came out the other day that people who have COVID it knocks off a few IQ points. When you have bad COVID, it seems to enter the brain through the nose. That’s why people lose their sense of smell and it goes

into the brain, and they’re finding that increased cognitive decline in people who get COVID, you know, multiple times. So that’s another thing against us. So we don’t need to add any chemicals like cannabis to make things even worse for us. So we need to get healthy again as a country so we can be strong and prosperous and productive.

The record number of people are going out on disability because of long haul COVID brain fogs that we need to you know, make America healthy again.

Speaker 1 Well, thank you, doctor Peter Michelos, live long and prosper Thank you for making our listeners smarter.

Speaker 2 Thank you for always getting the truth out on the Cat’s Round Table,
