Speaker 1 Sunday morning, Well every Sunday morning, we talked to our good friend Steve Kates, otherwise known as doctor Sky, and he gives us a lot of entertainment and expands online what the heck is going on up there? Steve Kates, give us your latest.

Speaker 2 Well, John, good morning to you and the listeners of the Cats Round Table all over the world. This has been a jam packed week in space, so really quick we find out that, of course the space X really goes to the center of all the attention with the successful launch of the starship. It came that booster successfully

coming back to do a soft landing and was grabbed by the lunch hour with his big arms. The really important, John, is the mission we’ll talk about now. Another fucking rocket, a Falcon Heavy launched a probe to the moon of Jupiter known as Europa, the smallest moon of Jupiter. And that’s an interesting mission. And here’s some skinnies on that.

The spacecraft is large. It’s about twenty feet by set two feet in size. What makes it so big. It’s using solar panels to help power it with some six hundred watts of solar power that it can transform into electricity.

But John, this is even more phenomenal. This spacecraft is headed directly to Mars and it’ll get there in February. Now that’s really quick. It’ll shoot around Mars, come back to the Earth, and then it’ll swing around the Earth and its gravity, like the tug of gravity, will swing it on to Jupiter and it’ll get there in the

year twenty thirty. But once its mission, we’ve noticed that around Europa there’s plumes of water like volcanoes that are coming out from what might be, John, and under you know, an under moon type of ocean.

Speaker 1 Wasn’t the sky? Wasn’t europea the moon where we saw about fifty years ago to movie where there’s a whole civilization up there.

Speaker 2 Yes, John, you know this goes back to how.

Speaker 1 Did they know about that? He used Europe of fifty years ago?

Speaker 2 You know, that’s a great history, John, But the great scientists, Arthur C. Clark, he wrote some novels and they transformed some of that into the sequel to two thousand and one Kubrick’s Eptic. This was twenty ten, the year we make contact, and there in his particular novel and in the you know, Hollywood version, they had this line, and

it said stay away from europeook. And we really don’t know why, but from a serious science part and exploration, there may be some organic molecules underneath there. Thus the reason that we’re searching.

Speaker 1 Well, let’s keep the mystery going because we don’t know what they knew or what we do. What we don’t know, stay away from Europa, you know.

Speaker 2 Steve, Yeah, there’s some kind of interesting story to be found there. John, But you know you’ve talked about this, and we’ve talked.

Speaker 1 About first contact. When did star Trek say they made first contract contact? Was it twenty one eight or twenty one twenty five or.

Speaker 2 Something somewhere in that range, John, When I don’t know the exact date, I’ll always be honest with you and the listeners, but it had something of hope for the future that life in the universe probably does abound. But this is interesting going back to what we talked about a few weeks ago. The astronauts on board the International

Space Station that couldn’t get home on the Boeing star Liner, Well they’re going to stay there till February, and many people wonder, well, why the heck are they going to stay there? If they now have an attached module one of the of course SpaceX you know Dragon Crab. Well, they’ve understood that there’s a very tight schedule for this.

I know it sounds ludicrous that I would want to be home. They missed their families and their pets. But the latest information I can say they’re healthy, they’re doing science experiments and John, you know, I’m not an astronaut, and obviously I’d love to look at that, but not something that probably won’t happen for me. But these people

have exceptional right stuff capability. They’re prepared for any contingency, and we hope, of course that they will return. And I think the first thing I would do if I were them is maybe seek out some publicists and do a great movie, and it would be entitled to this how I went to the Space station on a four

day ride and wound up staying almost a year. Wouldn’t that be incredible?

Speaker 1 That would be a great book. Amazing. Absolutely. But I tell you some of our movies, whether it’s the movie from about that Europa fifty years ago, or whether it’s the movie that the movies we created in the Star Trek show, people are saying that the is it Roddenberry that his grandfather or something your granduncle was something in intelligence in our country, and maybe you know

what our government does is feed out information slowly, so you don’t know what’s true and not true. But a lot of the things that you see in Star Trek, even the phones have come true. On the voyager was filmed in nineteen ninety. You see them using iPads.

Speaker 2 Yes, so I don’t know what the well, let’s go back to Kuber in two thousand and one of Space Honesty. He shows large screen TVs and computers of artificial intelligence. Now, talk about that as amazing, but.

Speaker 1 It is scary more amazing. What it is scary that maybe our government feeds it to Hollywood.

Speaker 2 Who knows. But we have a mystery of the week, John, and this Hommy Tewer mind boggling. Here we go, what are the fundamental forces in nature? And what about usible? Fifth? And here’s the answer. In the universe, we have electromagnetism, gravity, two very interesting things called the strong force and the weak force that’s in the sub atomic level. Now we

know that gravity is the weakest of all those four forces. But what is gravity? It’s the bending of space time. Now that sounds a little bit bizarre to many people, but that’s true. But some physicists are saying, John, that there’s something called quintessence. What the heck is quintessence? It may be the missing link in the universe that answers

the thing called dark matter and dark energy, some force in the universe that when you look at the vacuum of space, it’s not emptiness, John, it’s an ongoing series of particles popping in and out of the universe and all of this stuff that we’re talking about. Einstein couldn’t figure out how to match quantum theory to his relativity.

So astronomers in space scientists and astrophysicists, John, simply this. They’re trying to create something called the theory of everything, and hopefully they believe that this could answer all of the mysteries of the universe. Kind of like ordering a bagel, but this time you get the everything bagel. How about that.

Speaker 1 That is something in it? I hope, Steve, I hope mean you live long enough to see all this. Now, I’ve given you this one before. I know from certain intelligence sources that we do have anti gravity aircraft.

Speaker 2 I would believe it, John, and I’m telling you we’re going to explore these possibilities. To learn more, what do we say? Go to WABC radio dot com. Proud to be part of the station with the Doctor Sky experience.

Great info as you tell us and everybody else out there, from astronomy, space, aviation, and weather, and of course stories of American exceptionalism, the very stuff of what we’re talking about here in America. And to be proud of that.

We so good morning to everybody listening to the Cats Round Table.

Speaker 1 God bless you and God bless Mer.
